Can someone try to explain to me why was we in a shotgun offense on the 2 yard line for 2nd and 3rd down. That drive was a very crucial series and who knows what might have happened if we just ran it down there throats every down including the 4th. Thats just telling me that they dont believe in our o line or runningbacks.

Good point. I thought for sure we would pound it in. But that's what you get with our coaching staff.

Because we have rededicated ourselves to the run. At least that is what Cut and the whole offense has said all offseason. That is, until we get into a real game.

i think you nailed it on the head with that last sentence. One time we tried to run it up the middle was from prob 6 yards out. Our o-line had no push and foster tried to dive over the pile and came up 5 yards short. We didn't have much of a choice. Throwing it into the flats on 3rd and long doesn't show much confidence in the offense period imo

I didn't understand a lot of things about that series. We dive on 1st down, throw on second, pretend to be Arkansas on 3rd, and then throw short again on 4th. After the 1st down play, I thought you might see Foster up the middle 3 more times, and if Cal could stop it, so be it, but instead we pretended we were Cal and got cute.

That series is really my only major complaint with our offensive performance. We forgot that we were Tennessee and they were Cal there for about 3 plays, and it cost us.

good point. taylor at quarterback didn't work out too well.

That's what I have been pondering. Why abandon the run as the game getting into the crucial time? We run well in the first part of game, after we set up the passing game. That's also how Cal's running backs rack up so many yards on us! Abandoning the run automatically eliminates more than half of the play book, plus we don't have a deep threat. Load have mercy, even a high school DC knows how to defend this!

Exactly, I thought Foster would run for 4 times or we would do some tricks on 3rd or 4th down like throw on I formation.

I think that package will work great if we have the guts to run it at midfield.

As for that series, against a PAC 10 Dline.

1st down - Foster up the middle
2nd Down - Foster up the middle
3rd - PA FB flat pass to Brown, if not there, throw it away
4th - Foster up the middle

If they can stop that, they deserve to win.

they had the td but ainge threw late and couldnt come up with the catch. The 4th down play made no sence to me. What happened to a quick slant or something but throw in the flat where ainge already rolled out 2 times on the drive? I would have just ran it 4 times with a big set. Hell put brown and hardisty and pound.

Guess what, you're all right. A bad call. Stupid call. Guess what, the game is over. Sucks, but it's true.

Only thing we can do as fans is to get excited about this next weekend's game. Should be a good one!

I frimly believe with in five yards of the goal line you should be able to run it in! They had 4 trys and only ran it twice I believe? I believe they would have made it in if they would have stuck with the run...

I-Formation, play action pass to C.Brown wide open in the end zone would have been 6 points. Lucas Taylor at QB was just plain silly.

Our coaches suck. Ask an easy question, and you'll get an easy answer.

they basicly did that on the next td. i just dont understand how you can get creative play calling one drive and get rumy playcalling the next.

i know that cut knows more about calling plays than I do but they were spread out wide and they sent the blitz right up the middle leaving the middle of the endzone wide open. you would think that he would have anticapated this and have a te slant to the middle incase they did bring the blitz and they did just that because they knew he was going wide

Trying to spread out the Defense and make them guess. Didn't work, but I believe that was the thought.

well cut must not of watched manning and the colts as much as he said because when its 3rd and 4th from the goal and the colts go for it they throw to the endzone. harrison or wayne quick slant or fade or clark quick up and in
