| Vanderbilt After dominating Florida in basketball today, being ahead of UT and Kentucky in the SEC East and the great start for their baseball team, I have begun to wonder. With all of the money pumped into UT athletics why are we behind Vanderbilt in every marginally visible sport besides football and women's basketball? |

Men's basketball is their flagship sport. I'm not impressed. |

| We just took Vandy to the woodshed in men's basketball 84-57. |

Yes, and South Carolina is doing it to us. Vandy split with us and they are still ahead in the SEC. |

Which other sports are "marginally visible?"
I would argue we are now as good or better than vandy in bball. We dominate them in football and women's bball. Baseball is largely based on pitching..which just hasn't been stellar for us lately.
What else is there? |

I'm not saying we are worse, but at this moment Vandy started their baseball season beating the #1 team in the country and sweeping their tournament full of the top baseball teams. In basketball they are just hot excluding the UT game in Knoxville. For all of the money spent on UT athletics, where are the results? Vanderbilt shouldn't even be a concern, yet they are ahead of us as of this moment. |

| OMG The sky is falling!
Keep in mind that neither men's bball or baseball seasons are over...things change. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut now and then. |

Beating Florida was a huge lift, but they are now on a one-game streak. |

Hopefully. I am just angry that our basketball team is so pathetic on the road. |

Actually the "streak" would be at two games since they beat South Carolina. This is a good year for them overall. Quote:

Almost every bit of that apparently goes into the underachieving football program. |

Vandy is 18-8 and UT is 18-9. We played a much tougher schedule, in my opinion. I don't see how you can say they are much better. |

That's my real point. They aren't. They aren't supposed to be. So how can they be performing better than us, especially in the SEC? The Lofton injury can't explain the road record after today. |

Regardless, in a few years, I think we'll be consistently better than Vandy. |
