it's a game in an unfamilar stadium. obviously it isn't anywhere near the home advantage you guys had last year, but it's still an advantage.

I would get deeper into this but I really don't feel like it. Anyone catch what I'm saying.

It's like an Army. In the Army you are brainwashed in a positive sence of you will win, you are going to suceed, failure is not an option.

Catch what I'm getting at?
Yes.

Advantage comes with fan noise and rowdy fans. Is CAL going to bring that on? West Coast not known for loud stadiums.

Or Samford Stadium, even! I honestly think the cross country flight will hurt UT more than what, 70,000 Bear fans?

If Tennessee wins, I would hope the delusional Cal fans would just shut up. It was amazing in the 6th week of the season, both teams had 1 loss, and Bears fans were saying Cal was better.

These days, everyone thinks they know so much from just watching games - they're the best talent evaluators. However, what happens on the field is the ultimate indicator in college football.
serious question. in what way do you consider Cal fans delusional? Because some expect to win?

exactly. Cal fans are not known to be overlly loud, but we have our moments. During the oregon game last year we rattled dixon rather early.

Good CA drugs certainly don't hurt.

After watching 2005 I know no win is set in stone. Last year when I started researching on Cal I was left thinking what in the hell have these guys done to get all this hype and love from the press?

I found nothing really earth moving and came to the conclusion that with us at home with Fulmers back to the wall (when Tennessee usually gets at it) that we would win. Now 35-18 I didn't expect but I liked our chances and I like them this year too.

Ainge has played in:

The Swamp
Sanford Stadium
William Brice Stadium

just to name 3. I don't think Cal is that big of step for him or anyone on that team.

Cal fans think the PAC - 10 can compare with SEC play. That because being ranked higher in the final rankings with 1 more win than UT while going 0 - 2 against top 25 teams makes them a better team than UT when they where down by 35 after the 3rd quarter

agreed, but cal plays much better at home (undefeated at home in 04 and 06). Playing in a comfortable environment can not be discounted. and tenn will still be 2000 miles away in an unfamilar stadium. edit: all i'm saying is compared to LAST YEAR when it was a HUGE advantage to UT, now it is a slight advantage to Cal.

How many ranked teams did they play them 2 years at home?

99% of Cal fans agree the SEC is #1. We just don't think Cal couldn't win the conference USA (like some vol fan here said).
