What point does the author make? What are the early indications of a Cal win? What signs are there to say that the stereotypes will change? Did this author really think that USC or Boise St. should really be in the NC game at the time of the announcement?

SEC ARROGANCE DOMINATES COLLEGE FOOTBALL

Outside the South, Fans are fed up!

Heaven forbid any question the supremacy of the SEC. To do so you open yourself up to numerous vicious attacks from the vanguard of the SEC. Recent developments though (aside from Florida stealing the National Championship from Boise State) point to a different reality. The SEC is weak, and their ability to dominate on the decline.

Last year there were numerous examples of the SEC not being able to compete with other major conferences. Chiefly among them was the thrashing Arkansas received from USC. While Cal did go into Tennessee and lose, they kept it respectable, 35-18. Many in the college football world outside the south speculate that had Tennessee not stolen many of Cal’s signals, Cal would have prevailed.

Perhaps we cannot blame out southern brethren. For from the time of birth they are brought up to believe they are a cut above all other conferences. Again, numerous examples have shown without any doubt, this is not true.

Said one frustrated USC fan, “any time you turn on the TV all you hear is how great the SEC is, and how they dominate the college football world. I guess wining several National Championships slipped by their collective conscience.”

It remains to be seen if this traditionally viewed stereotype can be broken. One thing is sure, Cal plays Tennessee on Sept 1 to open the season for both schools. With early indications pointing to a Cal victory, this perception of SEC dominance may soon come to an end.
That USC fan is an idiot. Since the BCS was started, the SEC has the most BCS titles - 3.

SEC - 3
B12 - 2
ACC - 2
B10 - 1
P10 - 1

Hey I am not saying that, that is what the author said. Please, I am only the messenger. Sure the article seems a little biased, but the author must have had good reason to publish it. Perhaps I can contact him/her and ask for clarification on their story...

I publish articles weekly - on my blog. Doesn't mean I have any idea of what I'm talking about.

Road to USC 2x championships made much easier in the PAC10.

Boise undefeated playing in the SEC, not.

Pac10 is top heavy.

He was probably basing this on the national standings from last yr. Sadly, as Cal destroyed A&M, and you lost to a lowly Penn St. team, the author probably based a majority of his argument on that.

Which is a terribly low number for a sample size - 1 game. And yes, the Cal-UT game from 2006 is also a terribly low number for a sample size.

If by top heavy, you mean 1 team makes the conference, then you're right. The second best team was 10-3. Yikes.

Did Tennessee steal the "Cal DB Tackle" sign? You know the 2 curl routes by Meachem that the DB couldn't get him down and he sped off to huge gains and TD's.

Maybe we stole the "Tackle the RB" signal where Hardesty got molested by every hand on the Cal defense but you know never got taken down.

Maybe Tennessee's offensive line (which got proven below par in SEC play) planting Cal's D lines asses 5 yards back on every running play is there a sign for that?

Respectful? it was respectful because Fulmer took his foot off the gas and you scored a TD in the very end of the game.

If you (THE MESSENGER) really believe the crap in that article you sir are stupid.

EDIT: Also Many in college football? Lets see a quote. Anyone can say some crap like that. Many believe that smoking is actually better for your health. Now if you heard some crap like that wouldn't you want a doctor's quote in that article backing up the claim. Where exactly did that article come from a Pac-10 Blog or message board. You Pac-10 fans are crazy. You have one team that is worth a crap and I will give them all the credit in the world. The rest are slighly above average and below. You all ride USC's coattails and it's ridiclious.

Dear Cal fans. Win something other than a Co-Championship and we'll talk.

Well not only that, but the end of season rankings. Which if I recall, we were over ten spots above you, no? I may be wrong, feel free to correct me if so...

"Lowly"? Is Texas A&M supposed to be a powerhouse?
