| Get the Name Right! Was this written by Bob (Clow-son) Davie? Somebody needs to research names a little better...its CUTcliffe!
Other than that, I thought it was a pretty good article. Few too many references to "glittering" and "shimmering" for a football article, but what else do you expect out of the Bay Area? |

| "Quarterback Nate Longshore didn't practice Thursday because of a "twinge in his back," Tedford said. The head coach then went against his one-quarterback philosophy by saying Longshore and Joe Ayoob will play at Tennessee"
It seemed like recent discussion was suggesting that we would only see Longshore on Saturday. Cal fans won't be happy about this one (at least at first). I hope we light them up. Come on defense...we need you now.... |

| If Ayoob hasn't improved very, very significantly, Cal is in trouble not just with UT but with their whole schedule.
I wonder how much his staying in competition with Longshore has to do with the introduction of the spread? |

As I said in another thread, he threw 10 straight incompletions against Sacramento State.

| Do you know if this spread addition has brought him back into contention or is Longshore really that much of a question mark? |

| Longshore could still be working through some injuries. He has been showing a limp through the fall practices...and now he as "tweaked his back"...which could be a result of that limp. Perhaps his recovery isn't complete or it is a new injury. I don't know how Ayoob would fare in the spread. |

| No more odd than Cal Berkley being a football powerhouse. Somehow the images of a crunching hit by a 235 lb LB and peaceniks, PETA, and tree hugging granolas just don't go together... but somehow its working for them.

| Well I wrote the writer of that article and told him its not Cuncliffe its Cutcliffe. I told him you would think that a writer would actually do research and find out the coaches names and how to spell them correctly. all he had to do was go to the website. what an idiot |
