I met him at a walk-through before the Alabama game in 2004. I don't mean this disrespectful to anyone, but my wife remarked that he "looked like he had Aids". What she meant, was that he was so small and so skinny and without his cowboy hat and the airbrushing, he looked really really frail. It was pretty spooky.

Well wether you like him or not you have to admit was a good tribute to the greatest announcer ever.Noone will ever be able to be as good as John Ward.John sure made the game real for me on sats when the game wasnt on due to PPV,or I couldnt be near a TV.
