Rumors

This from a UF alum friend of mine;

Catch up on the Dunkley thing....

Okay, we all know that Chris Dunkley visited Tennessee this weekend. The reason he did is because there were rumors going around that they dropped him. The rumors of course were started because Dunkley wasn't going to visit (from his previous list) and the staff at Tennessee were pissed and started telling folks they dropped him because of off the field issues.

Now Dunkley took the visit and came away.....cold.

He also knows the deal with Nu'Keese as does everyone in Pahokee. Richardson hasn't been happy since the Florida game. The promises of instant playing time, starting, and being the next Reggie Bush of course never materialized and so Richardson has been telling everyone in Pahokee he was transferring since the Florida game. Richardson's aunt traveled up there to bring him home, not to console him and tell him to stick it out. My bet is that he still leaves at the end of the semester. They probably promised him more time with the ball and unless their schedule is that easy from here on out, I just don't see it happening.

I know for a fact they have called some schools to see if they are interested, as late as today. However, any thought of coming to Florida would be silly. He would have to sit out two years before playing and would be a junior. Knowing Nu'Keese, he would probably fore go that and just jump into the draft and try to make it. If he transfers, he should go JuCo and transfer where he wants after a year of being able to play.

From what I understand, he isn't the only freshman looking to transfer from Tennessee, we will have to stay tuned on that one.

Now Dunkley is ready to get the travel over with. I am hearing as Jason told you, that he is canceling his trip to USC and will visit this weekend at Bama for the LSU game. Then he will come to UF for the FSU game and then back again for the big Dec 12 weekend with his parents.

Speaking of transferring. At least two underclassmen at FSU are looking elsewhere and will likely leave, or so I heard today. AJ Alexander, the speedster from Pennsylvania isn't happy as well as Deonte Allen.

One thing I really noticed a couple of weeks ago was how silent it was on the recruiting trail when FSU didn't have a game on their bye week. When Tennessee had a bye week you heard about Lame Kiffin being everywhere and helicoptering in, same with Mark Richt. FSU's bye week and no news at all about their recruiting. That is telling in my opinion.

Honestly, if any of that is true, which most of the things you post tend to not be, I could really care less. If Nuke wants to transfer who cares? He's one player. One player doesn't make a team.

The only guy on their board MLB is Jeff Luc. I am pretty sure that Luc didn't make the trip to Tennessee despite the wishful thinking of the Vols. I still maintain he will be a Gator. I also maintain that he makes every school believe he will sign with them in the end.

My feelings on Luc have to do with two things. He has visited Florida off the record a few times and he knows the depth chart that I just shared, and my one trusted source on this one that I have is usually very pessimistic about recruiting, and he is very optimistic about this one. Frankly, it all just adds up.
also from the UF guy

Complete BS. Generally biased fans from a RIVAL school arent the best sources of info about YOUR team. If any of that were true, we would have heard about it by now.

Nuke wouldn;t be playing as much for most BCS teams has he has at UT. He's lucky to be seeing any time with all his muffed punts. He should be dissapointed with himslef not Ut so far because he has had ample opportunities.

I want Nuke to stay, but he did have opportunities to play and he didnt perform well. Special teams is where you can make an impact to show the coaches you are ready to play more and with his punt returns not being what was expected, he started to see the field less and less. I hope they can figure out a way to utilize his strengths like they figured out how to use Crompton's.

How often have your rumors been wrong? More so than being right is the answer.

I'm not trying to get hated on here.. but if Nuke was to transfer at the end of the semester it would hurt our recruiting of Dunkley and most of Pahokee in the next few years BUT it would also allow us to pick up another Elite WR (and it might not be in this years class) who might be able to start right away (Prater or Reed type player). I'm just saying it would be one less WR we have on the team for other WR's to look at and say I would never get PT there. Just so everyone knows I am not hating on Nuke. I love Nuke I think he is electric when he has the ball in his hands and think he could end up being really good. I just think that he needed to red shirt a year. This staff thought he would be able to come in and play special teams which we all learned he can't field a punt (atleast right now) and he isn't polished enough as a WR to contribute immediately. What do you guys think?

The whole thing lost complete credibility with one line.

FlVol53 says Luc's recruitment is over and it's a done deal to UT. I'll take his word over this UF fella.
