Why commit at all if you're going to be a soft commit?

because it gets 90% of the people around you off your back but it still leaves the option to look around to make sure you made the right choice. imo

I guess Orgeron would be the other 10%.

If Coach O is the 10%, I would rather have the other 90% on my back.

Yes that is exactly what I was saying.

As far as Arkansas having trouble recruiting, I think people do not realize what a debacle it has been with the firings and the hirings and the transfers.

One of the most well liked and famous high school coaches in the last 20 years in Arkansas is none other than Auburn's offensive coordinator Guz Malzahn. When he was fighting with Houston Nutt and Mustain was transferring to USC and Broyles was fighting with Houston Nutt etc it was a total debacle. The Razorbacks have just gone through a civil war and things have not healed.

Imagine if Fulmer was still doing pretty well but got into a fight with Cutcliffe and Cut ended up at USC taking TN kids and Fulmer ended up at UGA taking TN kids. The situation is even worse than that because Cut never had the reputation in HS coaching circles in TN that Gus has/had in Arkansas.

Poor Petrino came in with the stench of a quitter from the NFL and a staff that lacks anyone recruiting wise who can hold a candle to Rodney Garner or Trooper Taylor or Thompson, Orgeron, Gran or Kiffin.

It is just going to be hard for the guy to bring in top talent. He needs a fence around the state. It will be best for him if Gus M leaves to take a head coaching job somewhere outside the South.
