Debate "UT vs. whoever your team is" Thread

I, for one, am tired of opening up recruiting threads hoping for some new information just to find people like wheaton, dux, and whsie just going on about Washington, or Oregon, or whoever. I really have no desire to read an argument about why the PAC-10 is close to or better than the SEC in football.

So, here you go. Debate away, in this thread and quit polluting the recruiting threads with garbage that has nothing to do with the actual recruit.

This is a good idea, but to get the trolls here, you have to bring what attracts them here in first place to this thread. Allow me:

The Pacific 10 conference is atrocious at football. Sure, the offenses are fairly good, but only USC really plays any defense.

Oregon Ducks. Rhymes with Oregon Sucks. Coincidence? I don't believe in coincidences.


Washington didn't win a game last year. Why would anyone want to go there? They should just move on down the FCS for football.

King, I for one, am glad you started this thread. I hope it works to pull all the visitors like Wheaton over here and off the individual recruit threads.

But I don't think it will work. If they are not from the SEC, ACC or any other conference in the Southeast, they just don't understand.

They may live next to the largest body of water in the world but they don't have their own Navy. They don't have songs that never get old like "Rocky Top" and "Sweet Home Alabama". They don't have anything close to the world's largest picnic area....The Grove.

There's nothing like passing rival fans and hollering 'Go Vols" and "War Eagle" and "Roll Tide" and seeing grown men wearing cut off jeans imitating a pair of gator jaws. We live our football down here all year long. We have Dawgs vs. Gators and they have ducks vs. condoms?

They think tailgating starts on Saturday morning. We start on Friday afternoon at the latest. We have the "Vol Walk", the "Dawg Walk", the walk through "The Grove" and all the other special traditions. Go on their board and click under traditions and its almost a blank page.

I don't care how good the pac 10, the big 10 or any of those other conferences are. They don't hold a candle to how we live football in the South. Yea, it does matter wether you win or lose. But I'll take a lose in the South to a win anywhere else any day. Because there won't be many L's.

And as for that infamous knock down by the oregon duck on the Houston Cougar mascot....I want to see him try that with Florida State's mascot...roast duck anyone?

To be fair, the Oregon-Oregon State rivalry is about as intense as it gets.
