That's a big TE. Do we think he could end up being a Tackle for us?

South Columbus High School in Tabor City is sort of off the beaten path, but recruiters are apparently finding their way there to see the Stallions big tight end, Ethan Farmer.

The 6-4, 275-pounder averaged 20.2 yards per catch last season to earn all-area honors from The Wilmington Star-News. He’s been clocked at 4.85 in the 40-yard dash and some believe he could develop into a top-notch offensive tackle or defensive end at the next level.

Clemson, N.C. State, Tennessee and Virginia Tech have all already extended scholarship offers to Farmer.

He's got DT written all over him. That's if he's willing to play there in college

PalmettoSports.com | South Carolina Recruiting | Phil Kornblut | GoUpstate.com

"Clemson recently offered TE Ethan Farmer (6-4 275) of Tabor City, NC according to his coach. Farmer also has offers from Tennessee, Virginia Tech and NC State. He's also getting interest from Maryland, North Carolina and Wake Forest. Farmer attended junior days at Clemson, Duke and North Carolina and participated n the Scout.com combine last weekend in Charlotte. According to his coach, Farmer is a very good blocker in the Wing-T offense they use. As a receiver, he's effective on drag routes across the middle and has good hands. Farmer does not have a favorite according to his coach."

Def OL or DL. way too big. Plus, Kiffin like his OL to be able to move.

I'll take the kid as a run-stopping DE. He's got the frame and athleticism.

Ya know something just hit me. Think about the "big board" the coaches have for all the kids they are recruiting. That thing must be HUGE!!!

I would bet it takes up at least 2 walls. It would be a treat to go see that sometime.

Yeah - I don't think you want to waste his speed on the line unless he's a DE.

Sarcasm noted, but some of the numbers could be from a bad camp or his sophomore year. Just saying. Also, notice I said run-stopping DE.

No sarcasm there - he's obviously not a potentially pash rusher at DE - but it'd be a waste of athleticism with a 4.8 to put him at DT or on the OL.
