Scout.com: Brandon Linder Profile

Brandon Linder - College Football Recruiting 2010 - ESPN

Quote:
Linder has very good size and athletic ability for either tackle or center at the major level of competition. His flexibility, foot quickness and balance are positives regardless of where he ends up playing. Gets in and out of his stance with a good controlled 1st step and a flat back. Brings his hips with him; gets movement vs. down linemen and can adjust to movement. Displays the ability to reach and gain leverage on offset players. Has a real good feel for sliding up to 2nd level defenders. Have yet to see him pull and trap but feel his athletic skills would allow him to be successful. We like his willingness to finish blocks. We do have concerns about his ability to lean and the fact that he is on the ground a a few times, but overall he exhibits good balance in space. Possesses good quick set ability; at times a little too tall but has the flexibility to bend and slide his feet. Has good recovery skills. Flashes good punch and location; this will improve as he displays solid playing strength and explosion along with a nasty streak. Does a nice job with the shotgun snap; good accuracy and the ability to move off the ball under control. A red shirt year may not be necessary as Linder shows very few weaknesses at this point of his development but upper-body strength and explosion could be improved. His senior year will allow him to grow and improve his technique skills. As a true freshman he could see early playing time and add depth with his versatility on the line.

Florida seems to be high on him, so I imagine he will end up a Gator.

We may be, but he doesn't mention us in that entire video.

I remember him a couple of month's ago mentioning that Tennessee was a school of interest. Now on scout, UT isn't even listed anymore. Did he cut UT, or did something else happen ?

I don't think we knew it was going to be such an important position. We may be a little late in the game but if we can get Palardy in his ear, as well as get Riggs on Board....................this guy NEEDS to know he has a position battle next year for actual STARTING time.

Honestly, we are not that high on Linder so I don't think we are going to battle to get him. I believe Chaz Green is higher on our OLine list and we took 5 O Lineman last year that we are very happy with. I think it's between Miami and Notre Dame. STA sends many kids to Notre Dame i.e. Sam Young so the Irish might even lead.

I remember a long time ago that Jose Jose said he wants to be the starting C next years. No need for another C

Jose Jose is honestly just a fat high school player that uses his size to move people. Linder is a much better prospect and way more athletic. The best you can hope for is for Jose Jose to lose some weight and maybe become a back up guard, I really don't think he will ever start for a program like UT.

Jose Jose is going to be a hard person to move but the reality is LINDER could be a possible starter after a Freshman season of some actually snaps.

He was down to 330 when he committed (was once 355), and has probably lost more weight since then.
