| Don't flood him with a bunch of crap. If you can't get over the urge to 'make contact', keep it short and and sweet. Show a little love, then leave him alone...

| I checked out Jake Heap's myspace - once this conversation came up - and it was embarrassing... on of course more of the embarrassing comments were from UT fans...
One guy.. apparently a UT player stalker (his myspace is dedicated to them and has a ton in his top friends) left a comment like "I hope you're enjoying your time with Reaves." Wtf? And some little kid trashed LSU/Washington/Cal on his page. |

| IMO, if you have a higher profile than the average Joe Smo. You better expect some of this and take it in stride when you sign up on these services.

| I doubt he signed up so he could have a college football fan love in...I too am 17, and when i signed up for them a couple of years ago its for easy access to friends when your not around them or have no credit on your cell, i would bet everything i own that that is the reason he did it, BEFORE he was the #1 target for universitys. |

The internet just gives them more of an opportunity to remove doubt...

| I just think the vol freak guy on that myspace is really weird. He is friends with like every single player and recruit - and sends them those sketchy messages (like the Reaves visit one to Heaps) and has them all on his top friends. |

| The thing is, this kid enjoys a challenge. You can tell by the way he talks, and heck his myspace even notes it. So you can take that one of two ways.
1) He wanted the challenge of working to achieve a USC offer, and now that he has achieved that, he is intrigued at the idea of battling 2-3 really good QBs at the school that breeds them and eventually leading USC on the field as a starter.
2) He already achieved the only goal involving USC which was to get an offer, but the real challenge he wants to take on is building UT back up to the way it used to be. He wants people to think of him when they reminisce about how UT came up and became the team it once was.
Those are both excellent challenges and I guess we'll just have to wait it out to see which one means more to ole JS. |

#1 is in his heart, because he doesn't know the demigod status that comes with #2. That's why I want him to make a rational choice. We lose on the emotional option. |

We lose on the emotional option. | I think it will be emotion but also financial. The father talked about how they had a hard time after flying out to FLA with all of the expenses.
Dad can see his son practice anytime he wants without jumping on a plane and can be at his son's games within a 30 min drive door to game.
Those two things can be huge as well. Now if Jesse lived in Washington, it would be a different story.
(This also explains why USC bought the dad a Lear Jet for the away games.... jk UTM) |
