"I haven't narrowed it down yet but there are five schools I am really looking at," he said. "It is Notre Dame, Georgia, Tennessee, Wake Forest, and Florida State. Notre Dame is on top." Article

Yeah - a lot of ND fans were expecting him to be their next commit - I hope not.

We will be playing catch up here. I think UGA will be our biggest competition here. ND will fall off after another subpar season and Riggs sees how cold it is up there in the winter.

Would be a lot easier if Riggs Jr. was on our side - but maybe he will be now that Phil is gone.

The next two commitments for Notre Dame were expected to be cornerbacks Spencer Boyd and Cody Riggs from Florida. Boyd is as close to a sure thing as there is, according to sources, but schools like Florida State, Georgia and Tennessee are making a strong push for Riggs and trying to delay any commitment. Now it appears that Riggs will wait at least until the end of the summer to make a decision based on recent visits from coaches from FSU and others.

Notre Dame is the leader for Riggs, who had 25 tackles, eight interceptions and 25 pass deflections last season, but don't count out Georgia, Tennessee, Wake Forest or Florida State just yet. He said he's still open to other schools and those four have stood out the most.

“I like Notre Dame because I’ve already been there and everything,” he said. “But I don’t really have a top five. I won’t narrow it down until the summer.”
Besides the Irish, Riggs says that Tennessee is recruiting him the hardest. “They send me like two or three handwritten letters a day,” he said. “They keep in touch a lot.”
“I like their defensive coordinator (Monte Kiffin). He’s one of the best in history and has coached in the NFL and won championships,” he said. “But I haven’t really had the chance to go back there and meet the coaches or anything.”
| Per Scout... He said he hasn't been to UT since he visited his brother Gerald in 2004. Ohio St. is not recruiting him very much these days either...
2 or 3 handwritten letters from the Vol staff per day? Gah dang that's nuts...

I really want Riggs, I believe he is going to be a great corner in college, and actually live up to some of the hype.

But I do want him as a Vol. His skills would look great in the Alphonso Smith role though.
