| It's only a verbal offer though, since you can't tender written offers to sophomores. He'll get a written offer when he's a junior. |

| I don't see the big deal with offering a sophmore....some people act like it's child molestation or something horrible. Their just one year younger and you're just promising a place on your team for them. I do wish, however, that Jabriel Washington would have been the first SO to be offered by UT.

| This was a statement move on behalf of the new staff---"Look out, we're coming for your children; no one is safe."
Orgeron is going to put a ton of pressure on other southern schools to stay at the forefront of what's going on or else.... |

| Another guy from Gainesville. Looks like Coach O likes coming to north GA. I'm telling you getting a pipeline to Gainesville is definitely a good thing, they produce some good D1 talent every year. Blake Sims and Tai-ler Jones HS. The comments on AJC are just sour grapes from UGA fans bc they didn't offer first. He's been talk of the town even before Sims and Jones came from Cass. Guys he's been college ready since freshman year. He's definitely the real deal. Best LB in 7AAA, prob best LB in GA.

They're only targeting a few of the studs up here in the north, but the talent's down near Valdosta. ATL is catching up, however, and I do like how they're trying to raid the ATL area. The north GA kids we've offered so far have come from the same HS, and the rest north of Macon are in Atlanta.

| 2011 GA LB A.J. Johnson Didnt see his name on a search so here goes... Quote: |
The Volunteers created a stir on Friday when they became the first school to offer Gainesville sophomore linebacker A.J. Johnson, one of the state’s top 2011 prospects. Yes, that’s for players signing scholarship papers almost two years from now. And no, it wasn’t Kiffin, but Tennessee assistant Ed Orgeron who delivered the news

Class of 2011 prospect A.J. Johnson looked fantastic in the skill portion of the drills. Standing at 6-foot-3, 216 pounds with two years to continue develop, the ceiling for Johnson is unlimited. During one-on-one drills against running backs, he struggled slightly covering out of the backfield. That has more to do with his becoming comfortable with his athletic ability and less about his skill.
