Marques Johnson was going to play wing from the get-go but he transferred because he thought Pearl was wrong and that he deserved a shot at PG. You clearly don't have your facts straight. Pearl has done nothing to disapprove his abilities in evaluating PGs and I believe he will prove you wrong when you see Bobby Maze and Daniel West hit the floor (probably be a year or two before he will be a big contributor).
I could also show you the list of PGs that he has offered and I guarantee a lot of them are top notch PGs. We just haven't been able to land one of these guys. I think Maze will start a new trend and I think UT is a heavy favorite for Selby as well. I really don't understand the Craft offer but I am assuming he is just an emergency plan that Pearl feels that he will get better offers and be able to run his system if one of the big guys slips through. |
mm, I did not think that Johnson was recruited as a wing. Thanks for pointing that out

Still though, I'm not willing to assume that every decision Pearl makes when it comes to the point guard position has been the right one.
