| | Valid Victorian | Terry Shankle - CB, North Carolina For some reason, Rivals is kind of weird right now, so I can't get some of the news story on him, but he's a prospect we haven't talked about that I think looks very good. We're probably only going to take 1 more CB and 1 more S at most, but don't sleep on Shankle.
Reportedly runs a 4.43 40, was given the top spot for "ball skills" amongst CBs by Rivals, and is in a bordering state.
Here is his profile: http://tennessee.rivals.com/viewpros...=76852&sport=1
He has offers from Florida, Alabama, Clemson, North Carolina, and a few others. |

| And the first prospect I've ever seen to come from my high school that I proudly graduated from. One of the smallest public high schools in the entire state of North Carolina. Good to see they are finally producing some resemblance of talent at South Stanly.
With the way North Carolina and Butch Davis seems to be recruiting the state of NC so far, I'd say they'll be the main competition. |

| | Valid Victorian | I'd bet North Carolina lands him in the end, but I think his stock is going to rise the longer he isn't committed. |

| The only thing I fear with him is the level of competition he is playing against is horrible. the 1-A Yadkin Valley Conference is a sad showing of football in the Fall. That 40 time is nice, but it's pretty easy to get some INT's against the QB's in that league. The only team he'll play all year, in-conference anyways, with some talent is Albemarle High, who produced T.A. McLendon. |

| This is my 1st post on VolNation but I have some info. on Terry. He will be on campus Wednesday July 30th. His cousin has been put in charge of helping with his recruitment as his mother wants nothing to do with it. |

| He just visited North Carolina this past weekend and seemed to like the trip. Keep in mind that this was his first unofficial visit so everything seemed 1st class. Terry (like all recruits) wants early playing time. He is most interested in playing CB and is concerned with our depth at that position. |

From the UNC site. Shanle says that his most recent visit to North Carolina felt comfortable and moved the Tar Heels up on his list. His favorites include Norht Carolina, NC State, Clemson, Alabama and Florida. He is not sure when he will decide. | that was from awhile ago, but UNC certainly seems the team to beat.

| if hes from stnaly he might go to unc. if coach cut finds him that maybe a scare too. if we can catch them from charlotte west ward we prob got a chance. down east its either go to redneck nc state or chapel hill.i got issues i could bring in about chapel hill but i dont want to get banned from here. the boy would be at home at unc though. maybe cut will get him if we cant.

I bet this really limits our chances with this kid, if not eliminates them. He is probably a few years away from playing time at CB at UT. However, you never know what might happen. |

| | The Minister of Defense | Shankle claims North Carolina and NC State are his leaders."My list is mostly North Carolina, NC State, Alabama, Tennessee and Florida is in there too," he said. "Those first four are really in my mind because I get a good vibe from them. I felt like those schools will let me come in and play or I can make an impact in the future.
"I was at North Carolina and NC State not too long ago. I'll probably be going to Tennessee and Alabama in the near future."
makes a point of calling UNC and NC State his leaders

| I can't imagine he was very impressed with the atmosphere at the game but, hopefully the players made a good impression on him. |
