Crazy thought on DT's

This could be from lack of sleep, but let's say LSU get McFarland and Sentimore. Does that open the door for Davenport?

I have visions of Davenport, Bonds, Gaines, and Hicks.

Am I that mentally ill?

I know chances are very slim, but I'd say Davenport is the toughest pull. The other three seem to really like us. And if we could go all out for Davenport, who knows.

Stranger things have happened, although this would take the cake.

I think volball625 is right. There may be concerns about Sentimore's academics or something else but most people have speculated that he'd be a Tiger if they wanted him.

He says he thinks that they are close to offering and that they just wanted to check his academics first. He also seems miffed that UT and Bama and whatnot offered him despite questionable grades but the home team has waited to do so.

Bonds and Davenport have images of Haynesworth and Henderson dancing in my head.

If I were a top DT coming out I would look at a few things, depth chart, who is the other top DT and DE out there and talk to them. Package deal for the future.

Especially since we put so may DL in the NFL.

You would think that where we are right now on the DL coupled with what you just posted would set us up to just clean house in recruiting these positions....but we've been in this same place for 2-3 years now and have missed on practically every major DT we've gone after....

It doesn't make sense to me either but it keeps happening and thats why I'm a little pessimistic about these guys...

Hopefully we get at least 2 out of Davenport, Bonds, Gaines, and Hicks...all four is just wishfull thinking IMO

If we can get atleast 2 out of those 4 we should be pretty set for next years DL. That means we would be bringing in Cory Hall, and 2 of those 4.

Well said. Logically, we should be getting the big boy recruits every year, but we just haven't recently. So we need to focus on making sure we lock up at least one or two of these guys

I think UT would have gotten Brandon Thompson over Clemson this year if not for the very untimely off the field issues... especially the Jones/Paige thing.
