| Brandon McGee 4-star CB from Florida. He recently visited us and came away very impressed. Said that he liked much more than his visit to UNC. McGee said that we are going to be in his top five when he narrows it down but it looks like we are going up against the big dogs for this guy (USC, UF, FSU, Miami, Georgia, LSU, ND). http://tennessee.rivals.com/content.asp?cid=820715 |

| That's some stiff competition. He has good size, a little slow for CB, not very strong, but a pretty good vertical though. He's pretty smart, plans on graduating in December so he'll be an early enrollee. It'll be hard to pull him away from USC, UF, Miami, and F$U, but if our "goon squad" shows greatness this year it won't be as hard. |

Having the Goon Squad greatly helps. Maybe our problem in the past was that all we could bring up was Dale Carter and Terry McDaniel?

| This thread didn't get much pub but I just wanted to add this little tid bit. McGee has narrowed his list to six schools and has set an announcement for his committment. His final six are UNC, FSU, tOSU, Miami, UT and Ole Miss. And he will announce August 11.
I would expect one of the instate schools to grab him but I think we have a fighting chance. |

| It seems like the consensus is Miami from what I've read. |

| Here is ESPN's evaluation on Brandon and we are in his Top 5:
"If Pat White can play quarterback at the college level, so can McGee--but it will take the right scheme and a coaching staff with the guts not to move him to wide receiver. If McGee were three inches taller, he would be considered a quarterback prospect and nothing else. But he will draw interest as a slot man and return specialist, roles in which he could be a nightmare for opponents. He shows outstanding initial quickness, speed and acceleration on the move. He's tough to handle in space as a read-option quarterback. Has great feet and suddenness as a runner. Shows exceptional lateral quickness and burst. Has a long, smooth stride and would be a huge vertical threat on deep routes at wideout. He's extremely dangerous when he breaks contain and can force opponents to defend both the run and pass. Makes a lot of things happen after the initial play breaks down. He's elusive and has an impressive second gear in the open field. Possesses adequate-to-good arm strength and can make most of the throws necessary in college if his timing is right. Has a quick release and shows very good accuracy considering his mechanics are somewhat unpolished. Won't be effective in a scheme in which he's asked to drive the ball downfield. Needs to run a spread offense to have a chance at quarterback. But with his speed, athleticism and competitiveness, the sky is the limit at receiver. McGee is cut a bit high and runs upright at times, but he's a burner. Can be a little straight-lined in the open field, but his agility in the pocket suggests he has after-the-catch upside. Bottom line: McGee is a great athlete who makes plays with the ball in his hands. He deserves respect at quarterback, even if he doesn't wind up playing there in college."

| I've heard FSU, not Miami on this one. Regardless, I'd say we are third come August 11, but who knows? |

| You have to watch out for some Miami fans. Certain ones can be just as delirious as Bammers and Domers when it comes to recruiting. |
