I would take a 3* who has dreamed of playing for UT and is willing to do anything to win than a 5* who only thinks of himself and can't think of anything but making it pro | Valid first point. To answer the others, would you rather have Eric Berry starting in your secondary or Antonio Gaines? |

| I'm not trying to compare Eric Berry to anyone, that's not fair.
Like Volsguy said, he is a once in a lifetime player. I just know we don't get a lot of guys in here that actually have dreamed of playing for UT. This guy dreams of playing for UT and that makes him just as good as a 5* player to me |

| yea, we can agree on that. I'm just saying..It doesn't always work out. Their going to miss on star rankings..every year..I think we should just be happy with the guys we get. We're not gonna know how they perform till they get on the field.

| South Carolina, Auburn, and Michigan offered him before us.
I watched one of his videos and he is extemely quick coming up against the run.

| I understand the frustration of not getting 4* or 5* caliber players. Until we prove something on the field this year, we're not going to get too many. However, I tend to notice a trend, all the players we're interested in have at least 3.0 or better GPA. Perhaps if rivals or scout include intelligence or IQ ratings, we may very well have 4* or 5* players already. |

| How could you be disappointed with this guy committing? He has offers from Auburn and Michigan. That tells me enough right there. And he loves the Vols. What more can you ask for? |

| I wouldn't necessarily be disappointed. I wouldn't mind getting this guy, but I was just wondering how many 3 star players we are going to take. It'll be hard to keep up with the elites with a class full of 3 stars. Like I said earlier, I don't mind getting a few 3 star guys, I just don't want the who class to be them. |

| govols182, they are offering and accepting commitments from these 3* while still in the running for more highly rated players. That either says the coaches are stupid, think they can't get the others, or believe these guys are just as good.
fwiw, ESPN has this guy on their 150 watch list. They've liked a couple of UT's commits/prospects more than Rivals/Scout this year. I don't know if that's good or bad but it isn't like no one thinks this kid is a quality player.
Rivals and Scout seem to agree alot. Others go off the reservation once in awhile. Lemming for instance had Waggner as one of the best DB prospects in the country but he only got 3* from Rivals/Scout. |
