Yes, he can still run, but with that comes increased heart beat and swelling shortly after the surgury. Still recovering from the surgury, it wouldn't be easy to go full speed. I'm sure the strength and conditioning staff has him on a weigh lifting program that he can continue to get stronger and do what he is capable of doing at the time. |

| If you know anything about sports, or basketball..You can see that Tatum has superstar written all over him. What he did against Cal PA was very impressive. I dont care who they are.

JP will be in fine shape. He did the same thing this year, coming off surgery and played. He'll be fine.

Wouldn't really bother me. I'm not going the "indifferent Cat fan pretending not to be upset" route and call him a "thug" like some people, but I will say he seemed to want a situation in which he was free to do what he wished, as far as play style and his academic situation. When I learned that about him a few days ago, I figured he would be heading to UT, simply because UT is... lax, when it comes to its players.

so wait... the seats went really high up?? I wonder how high the seats are at Rupp?? should have waited for the UK visit and seen what a real hight is, plus i'm pretty sure we have better practice facilities.
I'm not gonna be sour about this though, I wish him and hopson the best of luck.

We didn't even offer? How do you get someone you don't offer?
I really hope some of you don't think we lost to UT for Maze, when you don't even offer.
Some can question if we truly lost out on Hopson since we got in so late in the game. There has to be a measuring point of saying if we lost a recruit or not.

Maze was not offered by UK. Maze was a back up plan to McCoy who was a replacement for Jasper as I understand it. Maze has too much of an attitude for UK. He will be a better fit at UT.

So, is it the obscene orange that blinded you or did Pearl throw you on of his "Leftovers"? You can't serioulsy believe what you wrote, can you? I agree that Pearl has done a good job of recruiting recently. Now , let's see him keep it up for, oh I don't know, a hundred years!

Does this kid know ANYTHING about UTrash basketball? Does he think he inked with Pat Summit? Or is he just retarded?

| t was Tennessee basketball at its trademark finest, except it was off the court and after the season that the Vols transformed a pair of turnovers into a steal and a game winner.
The end result of losing Ramar Smith and Duke Crews is nothing less than a fantastic finish to what will be widely regarded as best recruiting class in Vols’ basketball history which follows on the heels of the winnings season ever.
Getting Scotty Hopkins in April and Bobby Maze in May is nothing short of well... amazing. It took some things to fall into place — like Hopkins de-committing to MIssissippi State and Maryland adding a guard — but it leaves the Vols with a better balanced squad and a vastly improved back court. It gives Bruce Pearl a more flexible, athletic roster that is better able to pressure the ball and control tempo.
It’s also worth noting that both Hopkins and Maze like Tyler Smith and J.P. Prince chose UT after turning the Vols down on their first opportunity. Clearly Pearl has given Tennessee an identity and branded the program with a style of play that captivates fans and players alike.
Moreover three years of success accompanied by high rankings, high seeds, high-profile contests and high-octane performances have altered public opinion about the capability of UT men’s basketball to compete on an elite level.
“Tennessee lost a little bit of scoring but they’ve got some guys coming back and Scotty Hopson’s a McDonald’s All-American,” Maze told Scout.com’s Dave Telep of his decision to sign with the Vols. “To me, it’s the best fit. I had a chance to drive a Geo Prism or a Ferrari. I’m not trying to go to a school and not win; I want a championship. Tennessee has the best opportunity to win because of the players and Coach Pearl.”
As a sophomore at Hutchinson the 6-foot-3, 190-pound Maze averaged 20.7 points, 4.5 rebounds and 6.8 assists per game. He shot 50.5 from the field and a solid 72.9 percentage from the free-throw line.
He joins a class that features a shooting guard in Hopson, a combo guard in Daniel West, a small forward in Renaldo Woolridge as well as a center in Phillip Jurick. Another center/power forward in their future is 2009 commitment Kenny Hall of Redan High School in Stone Mountain, Ga. The Class of 2008 features players from California, Michigan, Tennessee, Kentucky and Kansas.
good to see our writer spell Scottys name wrong..other then that, good article.

| Tatum is going to do incredibly well. Anyone who thinks otherwise hasn't spent much time watching the kid.
