<H4>A home town guys opinion of Scott Hopson.
| Quote:
This afternoon Dustin Lopez, a former U of Memphis football player, db, called to talk to me about Hopson, who is from Dustin's home town. Lopez was a gifted athlete for Memphis and is now playing in an Arena Football League in Illinois. He said Scott had just texted him telling Dustin how the Kentucky fans were really attacking him on Facebook, My Space(?), calling him all kinds of names. Dustin, who has been gone from the U of Memphis for two years, says he has known Scott since the 8th grade, and was most complimentary of Hopson, character wise, basketball wise, etc. Dustin says he had played against both Chris Lofton and AJ Mayo and Hopson is by far the best bb player. Lopez says Hopson's dad hasn't been around but his mother is real active in the church and is a great human. Lopez says Hopson has NO character flaws, only selected MIss State in the beginning for insurance, and Kentucky was arrogant in recruiting him. Lopez is a good guy so I just wanted to share his great opinion of a fellow home town person.

| Interesting. I guess KY fans are a little upset about hopson. Sounds like they should blame the coach for not recruiting him a little harder. IMO |

Just a FYI, you just made the biggest mistake of your life... You signed with a team full of thugs and a coach that is gonna do nothing for developing your talent... Look at what Coach G has done with Law, Bradley and Crawford in just one season... You need alot of work pal especially on the defensive end and you need some drive !!! You're 2 lazy and I guess at UT that is tolerated but I guess you knew you was actually gonna have to bust your a** if you had came to UK... Another FYI, you're nowhere near a one and done player, not even close... Can't wait til next season when the Cats shut you down... Hell, the Grimm kid from Paintsville lit you up, you couldn't stop him... What did he have on you 24-25 ??? That's what I thought...
how classy. | That's some insightful analysis by Mr. Pink Polo shirt. A 30ish man using abbreviations like "2 lazy" and "FYI" should have bigger concerns than the college choice of an 18 year old. For example, getting a life. |

That guy is probably sitting at home drinking Evan Williams and watching reruns of Family Matters wondering where all the women are. |

| What to expect from Hopson You guys might want to check out Jerry Meyer's mailbag over at rivals.com. He gives his analysis on what the Vols can expect from Hopson. Knoxville is excited about the news of Scotty Hopson playing at Tennessee next season. Where does that put Tennessee in the team recruiting rankings, and what can Tennessee basketball fans expect from Hopson next season?

| His coach did mention Scotty's tendency to coast through games which we've all heard rumors about. I have no doubt that Pearl will break him of this pretty quickly. I wouldn't be worried about it. As for relationships with teammates and coaches, his coach said all is well in that department.
Lesson to be learned: Don't listen to Kentucky fans talk trash about a prospect they lost out on (as if we didn't know already) |

| Also from what his coach said, it sounds like Scotty may be pretty raw compared to what some posters think he will be. He will need time in the weight room and lots of coaching. I think he will have an immediate impact, but he won't be a Kevin Durant or Michael Beasley...yet. |

| Will we definitely have Hopson for two seasons now that the new sophomore-NBA rule is in effect? |
