Freshman Phenom Likes Tennessee

"It certainly is unusual to talk about freshman hoop stars when you consider what the typical 14-year-old teenager is up to during summer break. While most kids are busy playing video games and spending their afternoons at the local pool, incoming freshman Anthony Wroten Jr. is making waves across the nation for his hoop prowess.

A growing trend in college recruiting is the offering of scholarships to freshman and younger. While Wroten is regarded by many as a top ten prospect for the 2011 class, he has yet to nab an offer. "I don't have any offers yet," laughed Wroten who went on to say, "its real early still, but I really like Tennessee. I like Coach Pearl a lot; I think he runs a really good program." When asked if a commitment was pending, Wroten replied, "I don't plan on making my decision until my junior year. I want to make sure it's the right decision.

I don't want to make one decision and back out later. They [Tennessee] will be there at the end because they're my favorite school."

Yeah I have an 8 year old neighbor down the street who's pegged to be in the top 10 of the class of 2017. He's got a wicked shot from 10 feet. UT lock for sure.

The fact is that you have to recruit early, even as dangerous as it is. If not, you will miss out on players. People get on Fulmer for not recruiting a player when he is a JR. Pearl has to recruit them 2-3 years early at least.

Sounds like it's time for that mental invalid Randy Moore to write another idiotic article about how he feels "creepy" talking about the recruitment of eighth graders.

Randy is an embarrassment to his profession. Jimmy Hyams should also be thankful he works for a media outlet in Knoxville. As if his writing isn't poor enough, his radio show with John Wilkerson is completely unbearable.

This could be the biggest recruit in Tennessee history, get'em pearl. If we get Heaps, UT may be shutting the boarders in UW, lol.

He doesn't really talk about UT anymore; just the musings of a kid back then.

He isn't coming here
