four-star junior quarterback max duggan of lewis central high school in council bluffs, iowa, posted tuesday on his twitter account that he received a scholarship offer from tennessee.

"excited and grateful to receive an offer from the university of tennessee! #gbo," he tweeted.

The 6-foot-2, 190-pound duggan also added an offer tuesday night from oregon and now is being pursued by more than 20 schools, including georgia, iowa, iowa state, nebraska, minnesota, ohio state, north carolina, ole miss, mississippi state, penn state, virginia tech and wisconsin.

He's ranked by 247sports as the no. 221 overall prospect and no. 4 dual-threat quarterback in the 2019 class. In the industry-generated 247sports composite, he's ranked the no. 264 overall player and no. 6 dual-threat quarterback in the 2019 class.

All 12 predictions on the 247sports crystal ball point to nebraska as the favorite to land duggan.

I know a lot of people are under the impression that Tennessee only is going to go after pro-style or pocket passers under Jeremy Pruitt, but I don’t think that’s true at all. We already have seen the Vols offer several dual-threat quarterbacks, and a few of their top targets at the position in the 2019 class are guys who definitely can run. Throwing ability is going to come first in their evaluations at quarterback, but they don’t necessarily want statues back there. And most quarterbacks these days can run at least a little bit, anyway - even the guys who are labeled “pro-style.”

So here we all thought Helton would be going after more pro style guys. Hmmm...

Scouting services originally had him listed as a Pro-Style QB but switched him to Dual. Either way, just because we think Tennessee is going more Pro-Style or a hybrid of that doesn't mean they won't recruit talented QBs rated under both categories.

as long as they can throw the ball accurately, and not kill worms every saturday.

They want a thrower first. If they can do both your crazy not to go after them.

Example they still wanted Martinez but told Penix to kick rocks. Martinez is a thrower that can run. Penix is a runner that can thrownif needed
