The new staff has been all up in Memphis kitchen lately

We need to establish strong ties there. A lot of talent in that area.

As an aside, and this is my OCD showing... but since he's being recruited for defense, could/should the thread title be edited to reflect that?

If a kid is a two way player and is a 4 Star OT and is being recruited for defense then shouldn’t their be a star rating on the defensive side of the ball? Just asking. Didn’t know if it mattered.

Coaches travel note...

Tennessee worked instate today but only hit up private schools because of weather with so many systems still closed.

Terry Fair went to Ensworth to see Keshawn Lawrence while Jeremy Pruitt went to Memphis to see Bill Norton, Marcus Henderson, Maurice Hampton, Omari Thomas, and Ray Curry.

Because he's still two years out and I don't know what stability in a football program feels like anymore.

four-star class of 2020 offensive lineman omari thomas of briarcrest christian school in eads, tenn., confirmed to govols247 that he's visiting tennessee on saturday.

The 6-foot-5, 285-pound thomas said he was on his way to knoxville on saturday morning with teammate jabari small, a class of 2020 athlete who has received an early scholarship offer from central michigan.

Thomas, who picked up an offer from new tennessee coach jeremy pruitt's staff in january, will be visiting the vols for the first time as a recruit. He said he most recently traveled to tennessee's campus when he was in middle school to practice for the kentucky vs. Tennessee future stars game. The vols indicated to him in january that they were recruiting him to play on the defensive line.

At least 15 schools already have extended offers to thomas, including ole miss, memphis, auburn, lsu, arkansas, oklahoma, texas a&m, mississippi state, south carolina and georgia tech. Ole miss has hosted him on at least three visits since last month.

Thomas is ranked by 247sports as the no. 42 overall prospect and no. 9 offensive tackle in the 2020 class and the no. 2 sophomore from the state of tennessee.
