Seth Washington's Football Recruiting Profile

Washington, a three-star dual threat quarterback (247Sports), held offers from 10 other schools, including UNT, Cornell, Brown and UTEP. Washington is ranked as the 29th-best dual threat QB, the 198th overall player in Texas and is one of SportsDayHS's Top 100 Recruits of 2017.

As a senior, Washington completed 51 percent of his passes for 1,081 yards and 13 touchdowns during an injury-plagued season. He threw for 2,655 yards and 33 touchdowns, while running for 299 yards and two touchdowns during his junior year.

Eval: The ball really flies out of Washington's hand. He is able to get it out quickly and has little problem finding the arm strength to stretch the field. He has good size and a good frame and will pass the size test requirements for schools on all levels of play. He is calm in the pocket and shows good pocket presence, but is also effective working outside of the pocket and throws a good ball on the run. We like that he shows tremendous accuracy on the deeper throws.

Washington was one of the standouts at the Next Level Athlete Showcase in January.

Seth Washington a Quarterback with a Strong Skillset - Football Recruiting - Scout

Washington represented Episcopal School of Dallas very well in a star studded field of passers. While he wasn’t in the top tier of guys at the event, he made a strong case in the second tier. He threw the ball accurately and excelled when he was on the move. Washington is seeing some offers, and he should gain more attention going into his senior season.

maybe he is a "project" that won't mind sitting the bench for 3 yrs. and finally getting a real shot in year 4 or 5. If he doesn't have an ego problem, that is not the worse thing in the football world to do. Look at the many 4 year walk-on's that never get their 15 mins of fame. Occasionally one will work his a-- off and get a scholarship in year 2 or 3.

Welcome, Seth!

Talented QB from a good program wants to WALK ON for us and our usual suspects unpack their usual putdowns. :loco:

recruiting dumpster fire.

How, pray tell, does getting a preferred walk-on equate to a recruiting dumpster fire? Or did you assume that this was a scholarship commitment and just had to hurry over here to post your witty retort and wait for the nega likes to come rolling in?

This PWO is a great addition. He didn't have any big time offers but his highlight video looked pretty good. He seems to have a strong arm and good touch on the deep throws. He looks to keep his eyes down field even when he has to scramble and seemed pretty slippery when caught in the backfield. I think we are getting a steal with this kid and it is great insurance in case one of the other QBs decides to transfer. I hope we keep them all because the more competition we have at the QB position the better.

Welcome to Rocky Top young man! BOOM!

An important part of a healthy program is landing quality walk ons.

If your scout teams can't give your starters a very good look, it's just gonna be that much more difficult in games. That's why Saban has been bringing back old players of his for scout team looks lately.

Occasionally you get a walk on who turns out to be better than you thought and can contribute as well.

I like this addition
