| DC Jefferson 6'5", 237 QB out of Florida has UT as his only "high" interest school.
Any news you insiders?

| DC is a heckuva prospect...he has Jamarcus Russell/Daunte Culpepper size, he's got a big arm and he's a pretty mobile guy too.
He's publicly listed us as his leader, and his relationship with Coach Cut is a big reason for that.
His offer list will have all the usual supsects when it's said and done. I like to think we'll keep him as a Vol commit, but he'll get the full court press from LSU, Bama and the instate schools as well. |

| i heard that at the U.S. Army All-America Junior combine that he was easily the best QB there and impressed everyone. So, UT is obviously in on him and pushing hard for him. It is time for UT to land a big-time QB again, they haven't done so since Peyton and have had to scramble for their QB's of late so, it'd be nice for UT to land a prized QB recruit again. |

| IF we get him...we are really going to have a logjam at QB unless someone transfers out. Even if someone does transfer out we are still in a logjam, lol. If Crompton doesn't leave this year I don't think he will (Unless to Div II). Stephens I could see going, I think BJ will stay however. This kid looks really good though..want to pick him up anyway

| Crompton was highly rated yes, but wasn't the prize recruit of that recruiting season... Ryan Perrilloux was, who hasn't turned out to be anything special at LSU. We had to scramble to get Ainge and Schaeffer late, if you want to call Casey Clausen a good recruit then go ahead but, I won't. |

| Casey was highly rated though I do believe. Crompton will be the starter in 08 no doubt. Coleman is a very good qb and it will be interesting to see his development this year as a freshman. I wouldnt be suprised if he is redshirted.
As far a Jefferson is concerned, I have a friend whos son is a QB and went to a camp that Jefferson attended. The comment was that he had a rocket arm and was really big for his age and position. I hope he is accurate as well as a good decision maker too. He definately has the physical tools to be good. |

I hate to hijack the thread, but I don't take kindly to Casey being everyone's whipping boy for the few losses we had those years. |

| With all due respect to Nick Stephens, regardless if he's a smart QB, he probably won't see a start in his career.
08, 09 - Crompton
10, 11 - Coleman
