I thought it would be a good idea to keep a running thread about how this class progresses from this point on. We can all agree this class hasn't lived up to the hype we were thinking it would this time last year. It is puzzling how quickly this class has seemed to fill up and with a lot of names we weren't familiar with, but anyone who has followed recruiting the last few years should know this class will look different come early February. I think it will be interesting in February to look back and see how this class changed from month to month as the season progresses.

Around the same time each month I will update the original post with another list of our commits at that date and any major events that occurred that may have influenced the class. For simplicity sake all the rankings with be the 247 Composite.

Let's not make this a thread about speculating which of our current commits will be dropped, recruited over, etc. That's not fair to the young men that have committed and we don't know the conditions on any of these offers.

Lots of evaluating to be done once the season starts. Senior film will dictate the final class more than anything imo. Hope these guys ball out and stay healthy!

Yep. One thing that will be interesting to track is how many current 3 stars end up getting bumped up. If it's a lot, then pretty good evidence that our coaches (who all make 6/7 figures) are more reliable talent evaluators than the website experts (who I'm willing to bet do not).

Good thread Golfer. It will probably be overlooked next year when we are taking three star recruits during the summer but it will be a nice stick to use to beat the negavols over the head with!

Just to be clear...your "updates" will be new posts, right.

In other words, leave the old ones so that we can refer back to them.

Should be an interesting thread.

Fun fact that the following players did not even have a thread on VN this time last year:

Jonathon Kongbo
Tyler Byrd
Nathan Niehaus
Desmond Henderson
Ja'Quain Blakely
Latrell Williams
Mykelle McDaniel

Chandler would make this class so much more attractive

Not sure I agree but if you insist.

OP has been updated for this month. Changes include:

1. 4* Ty Chandler commits!
2. Brent Cimaglia was dropped to a composite 2* for some reason.
3. We moved from 10th to 11th nationally but from 5th to 4th in the SEC.

Let's see what changes happen as this season keeps rolling

This 2017 class is woefully average. We might get lucky and land Trey Smith. So that would be 1 5* player. Along with Chandler, thats two marquee players.
