Earlier in the week, the Vols offered Georgia athlete Shakur Brown, who told SEC Country he was “really excited” about the offer...He plays Wildcat quarterback, receiver and defensive back at Woodland and wants to play cornerback in college.

Brown has spoken with Tennessee secondary coach Willie Martinez and plans on taking an official visit to Knoxville this fall.

The question is whether there’s room for Brown in the class. With Cotman committing Wednesday, Tennessee only has one spot remaining for a defensive back, and the Vols have other targets (see: 5-star safety Deangelo Gibbs) much higher on their board.

In just four games at corner, Brown exceeded expectations by intercepting one pass every game, returning two of them for touchdowns and registering 23 tackles.

Brown’s decision will ultimately come down to two factors. “How good they are recruiting me and whether or not they have a good business program,” he said.

The speedy defensive back — who runs a 4.4 second 40-yard dash — uses his past experience at quarterback to give him an advantage on defense, as he’s able to see each play through a different point of view.

Brown’s winning play showcased all the skills of a dynamic playmaking cornerback. The athletic corner made a remarkable one-handed grab on the 5-yard line, but that was just the beginning. Brown sped down the sideline, then at midfield he went into spin cycle, eluding all would-be tacklers—he then coasted the rest of the way for a 95-yard interception return.

It's crazy to me that we are discussing whether we have room for anyone else or not before Fall camp even starts.

This kid is good.

Not to mention he has a very good football name.

He reminds of Sheldon Dawson out of Memphis Ridgeway that ended up playing with UGA.

Not to mention he seems to have that wierd football luck.

Deflections turned interceptions.
Causing fumbles at the most opportune time.

Bumping this one for a very good reason. Here is Brown's top school choices in order:

UT, Colorado State, UF, Kentucky, Minnesota, Ole Miss, Oregon State, Pitt, Purdue, USCe, & West Virginia

We are running 1st & from interviews & his quotes we're a strong 1st right now. He's an ATH so he could play multiple positions.

CB is his main position so it's a position of need. He might be our best chance at landing another recruit.
