Seems like 4.55 is a little slow for only being 175 lbs. Most SEC corners run around 4.4, but Butch has earned the right for us to trust his prospect evaluations.

That is the perception that most people have but it isn't true. All you have to do is look at the NFL combine results to see that true 4.4 speed isn't as common as most people want to think.

Thomas’s IMG Academy teammate, cornerback Brendan Radley-Hiles took home defensive back MVP honors and was invited to The Opening after lining up at cornerback, nickel and safety and making plays from all three spots. The nation’s No. 6 cornerback and No. 36 recruit overall plays a very aggressive style in the secondary. Top schools for the U.S. Army All-American include UCLA and Nebraska.

UCLA and Nebraska? Talk about polar opposites. Rocky Top to split the difference!

Several Cali players headed to/looking at Nebraska lately. I think they made a coaching hire with inroads there.

Hoke has always recruited California from his days as an assistant at Michigan. Was very successful as well. How he got the San Diego State job.
