I think we have whipped the skin off this dead horse......

but, has anyone heard anything on M. Austin? Any new......um news? This guy would send our class into orbit. Just my opinion but if I were he I would want to come to 100,000 screaming fans and the best damn conference in america opposed to a sputtering team in a sputtering conference in the ACC. Oh well, any news?

I have a question totally unrelated to this thread. Why oh why would a guy go to a school that told his oldest brother that he was not good enough to play for them? If I had the talent that everybody things Jimmy has, that would be the last team I would consider.

Jimmy...Casey should be pissed at you. That is a slap in the face to Casey.

Why would you go to a school that 70% of the fan base downgrades both your brothers and their accomplishments.

Because Charlie Weis is arguably one of the best QB coaches in the country, if not the best. If Clausen has the tools to be a NFL QB, then Weis will have him ready.

Sometimes it's not good for a brother to go to the same school i.e. Peyton and Eli. Too much hype to live up to, plus all the bad things.

If Weis is one of the best QB coaches, then you could say that Cutcliffe is THE best. Weis did hire Cutcliffe to coach his QB's couple years ago.

Personally, from what I've seen of Jimmy, I don't think that matters to him. I think what really matters is that Notre Dame is on TV every week and it gives him more of a chance to be watched by everybody.

First of all, I think that Weis, Cutcliffe, and Jeff Tedford are all neck and neck for the best QB coach in the nation. Also, I agree with the fact that part of the draw for Jimmy is playing on TV every week at ND and the fact that ND gets more attention in the media than any other program. He seems to like the attention so I could see that being a factor for him.

you are talking about a guy that, if not for peyton manning, is the leading passer in school history. as I have said before, when your best recievers are converted qb's and db's your quarterback will not be as productive, look at casey's 1st 2 seasons.

Quinn wouldn't have been drafted if not for Weis. He barely had 50% completion percentage his freshman and sophomore seasons.
