Wanted to post this hoping it can be pinned. Noticed a few people bringing up 15' singees to get updates and getting an ear full bc usually they get brought to the top for bad news. I specifically wanted to know about Darrell Taylor, anyone heard anything?

I put some stuff in the football talk thread. Essentially no visible busts right now. Mckenzie showed up great shape, about 335 LoL. Austin Smith looks like an upperclassman physically and looks good in the hybrid role. Sapp looks to be over 200 and looks athletic and playing OLB. Vincent Perry will carve out a role on special teams. He's very quick,

I heard Taylor showed up in good shape and was impressive physically. Can't remember where from. Probably somewhere else on here.

I'm very excited to see what Darrell Taylor does here.

With his combination of Size, Speed, & Quickness, I think he's going to be a special, special player for us coming off the edge.

He was my steal of the class. I think any DE would put some numbers up with the DTs we are running out there, but this guy with Barnett and Phillips....SIIIICK

KMac: came to camp in great shape. May start game 1.
Smith: looks like a full grown man. My eventually outgrow lb completely.
Tuttle: invaluable spring reps. Will be in the 2 deep come fall.
Butcher: looked solid until injury slowed him down. Likely redshirt.
Kamara: looks like a star.
Williams: 2 to 3 months ahead of schedule. Looks to play in the fall.
Phillips: will return this summer healthy for the first time since his junior season.
J Jones: needs to add size and strength. Has a nasty streak.
Kirkland: will be full go this summer. Will push to start at mlb.
Sapp: showed up at 209 and still has his speed.

This is what I know so far.

Boom!! Thanks for the updates, RPP! Great news about KMac and Shy. We need those 2 playing early and getting valuable experience, as their presence will be critical towards the middle of the schedule when we face teams who are run-heavy.

Stephen Griffin was doing all the right things as an EE from what I remember reading here. Seeking out leadership from our seniors + TKJr, has a great frame and is physical. I'm not an insider by any stretch, but I got the feeling he could be a real asset down the line.

This is what I know so far.

To follow up, Justin Martin needs to put on a lot of muscle. He came in about 6'2 165.

Drew Richmond needs to get a lot bigger and stronger if he wants to compete for a starting position. He needs a lot of work in the weight room.

if he is in the 2 deep, I say play him early and often. We have a chance to do something this year, F redshirting people who can help now.

If he is as good as advertised I don't see him waiting 4 or 5 years to declare for the draft so why wasted his talent riding the pine. We will be lucky to get 3 years out of him.

which is to be expected from a true freshman OL.

From my own observations and comments I've heard:

Micah: Strong kid who looks to be the kind of guy who could come out of nowhere and see a lot of reps early on.

Boulware: Slowest walking kid I've ever seen in my life, lol, besides that, needs to get in the weight room especially in the lower body. RS most likely.

Griffin: Gained weight, looks to be a special teamer/ and solid depth at safety.

Joc Bruce: Skinny and small. Looks like he's 40 years old. RS candidate.

Joseph Young: Dreads. Looks like an SEC runningback physically. Don't know much else on him.

Vincent: Skinny yet strong looking kid. Very confident kid. I have a feeling he's going to have a very good year.

Chance: NEEDS to stay focused in the weight room and gain muscle but from what I've heard he's a very athletic lineman. RS candidate probably.

Sheriron: I really like this kid. Seems to have a good head on his shoulders. Definitely a slim QB but he'll have plenty of time to gain weight.

Justin Martin: Tall, rangy corner. Needs to gain some weight but you can tell he will be a day 1 contributor. He's very confident. Excited for his future.

Darrell Miller: Not 5'10", probably 5'8.5" or so. Skinny too. Must be a lock down corner because physically he is smaller. RS candidate probably.

Kyle Oliver: Could use a RS season to gain muscle, but he passes the eye test from a physical standpoint.

Richmond: NEEDS to be in the weight room 24/7 365 if he wants to see serious playing time this year. It's early, obviously, but he could use a year in the weight room, in my opinion.

Austin Smith: Huge LB. Looks the part. Really nice kid. Potential breakout true freshman candidate.

Townsend: Hope he never has to make a tackle

Preston: Could pass for Justin Hunter's brother. Confident is an understatement. Excited to see this kid on the field.

These are all based off of limited encounters with these guys so don't take it as canon. Lots to be excited about from every single one of these guys. It really was a great recruiting class.

Also, not that it even needs to be mentioned again, but if DKjr. plays the game anything like he does everything else (academically, weight room, etc.) he will be a freshman all-american.

That's all I got, I'll try and update their progress as I can.

:hi:
