I'm pretty sure I saw Azzanni use this on Twitter. I think this is our new Twitter slogan for the class of 2016.

It's so bad, I think it could actually work.

I really think this class is going to be exceptional. I know I'm talking ESPN here, but as far as national perception goes, I really think we are going to be the absolute talk of NSD16 IMO. I could see a scenario where we are involved with 20+ ESPN300 players in the '16 class. That is unheard of. Obviously a lot depends on how their (admittedly horrible) rankings are adjusted and also our numbers for next year, but just from a quick scan of the rankings we are in on so many of them already.

Top 3 for sure next year IMO. Only way it isn't is if we take less than 20.

If Perry and Bruce count toward 16, we may need to get 4 and 5 stars for the rest of 16 if have shot of top 5 class imo

Maybe pump the breaks a bit. Don't get me wrong, I love where your heads at. Its not much of a stretch to think we sign a class next year that's ranked 10-12 and on the heels of the past 2 years would be great. However, expecting around 20 top 300 kids but ending up ranked 10th with half that could very well seem like a negative ( and its definitely would not be a negative).

I think you're under estimating Butch's recruiting. I don't expect 20 top 300 kids, but I could see a scenario where we approach that. Check the stats below!

Decided to put this together in anticipation for next years class.

We return a freshman kicker and we got our other 2 specialists this year (LS and Punter), along with so much depth the last 2 classes on both DL and even OL this year. I think we are going to be extremely picky in 2016 due to numbers and needs. Below is a list of ESPN Junior 300 players that IMO we are either in good shape for or recruiting.

There are 36 total including our 3 commits. Obviously not everyone will be in the 300, but I can easily see a scenario where most of our class is made up of some combo of these guys. Top 3 IMO.

Devante Brooks, Marquill Osborne and Austin Kendall already committed and in the 300

Rahshaun Smith - DE (MD)
Emmitt Gooden - DE (TN)
Rashan Gary - DT (NJ)
Dexter Lawrence - DT (NC)
Boss Tagaloa - DT (CA)
Shug Frazier - DT (GA)
Tre' Lamar - ILB (GA)

I'm with you on the possibility, I just hate to think that a class ranked 10th (no particular reason I picked 10) might end up being viewed as a bad thing.

I agree with you there, even though I think many of us would understand why it would be that low, there would of course be some that would b*tch about it. By the way welcome to the board. :hi:

Thank you. I'm not as inexperienced as my stats show however. Lost pswd for both my last account and email I listed. Vet since 08

You hit the nail on the head. Most recruiting posters would get it. Its the ones that stop on this forum once or twice a year. They get it in their head that we expect a even better class next year and act like a solid 9-12 finish marks the decline of this great bunch of coaches. In truth, we may finish 10th but end up filling all the holes we have and could be just as productive as the prior 2.

100% agree.

I just see us landing a class a lot like FSU's this year. For comparison they are listed at #2 on ESPN with 21 total commits and 11 in the top 300 (3 fives and 12 fours). IMO we will have more than 11 in the final 300, so I anticipate another top 5 class next year and a lot of national attention on NSD since ESPN/SECN is pretty much the only network that carries it.

Disclaimer: I put the least amount of stock into their actual rankings, I just think it is an important piece to our national perception.

I could see 13-15 in top 300. Its hard to imagine not landing at least one consensus 5*. Then again the probabilities of not having one are pretty high. After the past decade, I'll take 15 4*'s w/o a five sstar and be fine with it. Theoretically if that happens a 10th place finish is entirely possible. Maybe I'm being naive but if you gave that option to me right now for 2016 class, 15 four stars but no five stars, I'd sign w/out thinking twice.

I just wanna get Rashan Gary and Lavonta Taylor. Gary would make our 2016 D-line arguably the best in recent memory in college football. Taylor will be critical with Sutton and/or Martin declaring early.

Those are the guys I want to be the crown jewels of our class.
