Impressive

This title appeared to be secure when the Eagles went up 37-20 with 6:47 remaining. But when McCallie quarterback and Tennessee commitment B.J. Coleman is on the field, the game is never over if time is left on the clock.

Coleman threw for 346 yards and led two late touchdown drives — one coming after an onside kick recovery by McCallie — to give the Blue Tornadoes a shot.

“They had a good defensive scheme in the second half and got a lot of pressure on me,” said Coleman, who tallied more than 7,200 passing yards in his three years as a starter.

“(Coleman) just kept coming back on us,” said BA defensive coordinator Mickey Jacobs. “He made the passes and found the receivers.”

Im impressed. Coleman has won me over, to do that against BA is very impressive.

Peace

???????????????????????????????????

He already did that to BA once this year. He led his team to a 10-2 record and a runner up in state. This included wins over BA and Riverdale. The losses were to BA and Alcoa.

This is what BA's QB said about Coleman:

Quote:
"Coleman is the greatest quarterback I've ever seen in high school," said Eagles senior quarterback Trent Caffee, who transferred to Brentwood last school year after playing in Texas at Aledo High. "He's better than Jevan Snead, who is a freshman at Texas this year."

I guess my question is why do you assume he isn't? The kid has talent, smarts, desire and heart. I'm not saying he will be but I am open to the fact he could be.

I have been reading the posts on here for a LONG time and just recently signed up. Correct me if I am wrong but were there not a lot of people who were complaining that Tennessee recruited him because he didnt have a high star rating?

I was one of those people. I thought we had reached on this kid and it looks like I was wrong. It just seemed to me at the time that we had settled out of fear of not landing anyone.

I would have probably done the same. I had heard of this kid last year but it wasn't associated with superstardom. Looks like he will be a good pick up. Redshirt him though. I LOVE CROMPTON

there is a group of people that will tell you Stephens will be the next great QB at Tennessee, but this Coleman kid looks very impressive, it's just hard for me to rally around a guy named BJ

Stephens has a cannon of an arm. Outside of that I think he is way behind in terms of being an SEC QB. His footspeed is bad. His accuracy is not great. I hope he turns out to be successful. But, putting it this way...there is nothing Stephens does better than Coleman (maybe a stronger arm, barely) and Coleman does quite a bit better than Stephens. Coleman has a very strong arm and has that "it" that you need to be a QB. I also dont think most people understand how fast and athletic this kid is. He is a legit running threat when a play breaks down. He wont carry as much punch behind a hit as Crompton does, but he is a better runner than Crompton (faster, quicker).

I think we've seen how dangerous a qb that runs can be considering how bad it hurt us against LSU, UF, and USC
