Not to get too far ahead of ourselves, but I have been thinking a lot about our future defense. I really think our 2016 defense will be our best since 2005.

Great combinations of size, talent, and being mean as hell.

The way it looks on paper it's shaping up to be a great defense. Now we need the kids to hit the books and the weights. The game is played on grass not paper.

Also, think about the legacies on our defense alone. McKenzie, Bates, Kelly, probably both Berry twins... it's gonna be awesome to be a fan in the stands cheering on that defense.

CBJ is developing a football legacy endowment. Soon half of our classes will be legacy signings and then we scoop up the best of what is left to fill in gaps. Oh Happy Days....

Projected starting lineup for our SEC championship defense:

DE - Dwayne Hendrix (JR)
DT - Khalil McKenzie (SO)
DT - Derek Barnett (JR)
DE - Cory Vereen (SR)
OLB - Dillon Bates (JR)
MLB - Cecil Cherry (SO)
OLB - Jakob Johnson (JR)
CB - Cameron Sutton (SR)
CB - Emmanuel Mosely (JR)
FS - Cortez McDowell (JR)
SS - Todd Kelly, Jr. (JR)

Plus guys like Andrew Butcher, Joe Henderson, other 2015 DTs like Tuttle and Jones, Rashaun Gaulden, and the Berry twins spelling the starters. Not too shabby.

Evan Berry will be the other starter at CB.

Nice but I would switch JRM for Johnson 1) because I think Johnson is going to play DE and 2) JRM is a beast. Great player and he will be a SR as well

Projected starting lineup for our SEC championship offense:

QB - Josh Dobbs (SR)
RB - Jalen Hurd (JR)
WR - Marquez North (SR)
WR - Josh Malone (JR)
WR - Preston Williams (SO)
TE - Daniel Helm (JR)
LT - Malik Richmond (SO)
LG - Austin Sanders (JR)
C - Coleman Thomas (JR)
RG - Jack Jones (SO)
RT - Brett Kendrick (JR)

I really have no idea how the offensive line will end up, but it shouldn't really matter with our skill players. If Marquez North jumps to the NFL after 2015, then we'll go with a quick slot guy like Vic Wharton or Josh Smith (assuming Torrance Gibson hasn't moved full time to WR).

Yeah i have to believe that an offense with

kamara
hurd
scott

williams
Malone
north
jefferson
helm
wolf

would have to rival any set of skill players in the nation if all progress as expected

Who is Malik Richmond??

And I don't think Coleman will slide from starting RT this year to Center.

IMO Josh Smith is one being recruited over. Would be shocked if he ever has a significant role for this team other than coming in to give Butch's Ballers a breather.

This is what I'm thinking as well. I look for both of the Berry brothers to have starting roles somewhere on the D. They are very gifted athletes, from a great family and have the best tutor possible.

They are the last of their kind, skilled assassins trained in the deadly arts. Trained by Eric from birth to show no mercy towards UF and bama. enforcers, and damn good ones.
