Guidry, who was listed at 6-foot-2, 245 last season, has grown to 6-foot-3, 285...He has been offered by Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Tennessee...

Despite missing two games, Guidry had 81 tackles, including a team-high 9.5 sacks, 14 tackles for losses, one forced fumble and had an interception for the Raiders in 2014.

"Briston came back from a knee injury quickly last season," Roth said. "He is that competitive, plays with a high motor and he is relentless. He has grown quite a bit in a short time and he will only get bigger and better. He was simply outstanding for us last season and we expect him to be even better in 2014."

Scouting report: Guidry has the size and athleticism to play any position along the line of scrimmage and he could fit in many defensive schemes.

Latest: Guidry added an offer from Alabama at the end of February after a trip to Tuscaloosa. He plans to visit Arkansas and Tennessee in the near future.

Leaders: Guidry committed early to Mississippi State, but he is wide open now. He claims no leaders at this point.

Way-too-early prediction: LSU

guidry, who’s rated a four-star prospect in the 247sports composite, received an offer from tennessee more than a year ago, and he told 247sports last weekend that he’s hoping to visit the vols sometime “this spring.” he holds offers from seven sec schools, including lsu, alabama, texas a&m, arkansas, ole miss and mississippi state, and he has visited alabama and texas a&m so far this year. He said he’s planning to visit arkansas in addition to tennessee this spring. The 247sports crystal ball points to lsu as the favorite to land him, with the tigers getting 75 percent of the current predictions.
