Tennessee coaches stopped by West HS today and offered a preferred walk-on spot to LB @Cody_Underwood (6-2,220) - the PX Defensive POY.

Sounds like he's going to accept the offer, per his Twitter account.

Underwood, a 6-foot-2, 220-pound senior inside linebacker, made 182 tackles in 15 games while helping West (13-2) reach the Class 5A state championship game for the first time in its history.

And Underwood was rewarded with the PrepXtra Defensive Player of the Year.

Underwood finished with 19 tackles for loss and five sacks, leading the team in total tackles for a third consecutive season.

Just think Nick Reveiz man. We faced this young man in the playoffs this year. My observations were that he really likes contact!

Good move IMO. Think he will be a good one in due time.

I think its good to offer some of these less heralded guys, not many, just a handful and see what happens. You just never know, especially instate guys.
