Look for Tennessee to host several official visitors for the South Carolina game and that includes Coleman Thomas and junior college receiver Lavon Pearson.

With all the questions surrounding Kameel Jackson, Tennessee has had to look for more junior college receiver help and Pearson may be one of the best. Through four games this season, he's already put up 40 catches for 657 yards, including a 19-catch, 311-yard, 3 touchdown game earlier this year.

Pearson, a Virginia native, is very interested in the Vols right now and the visit for the South Carolina game will be a big one for the 6-foot-3, 180-pound wideout.

This is the kind of guy that we could use on our team right now. A solid possession receiver that can bail his QB out on throws that are low, behind, high, etc.

Pearson graduated from Denbigh HS in Newport News, VA in 2010. He signed with Virginia's 1st juco football program in 2011 but the program, started by a sports marketing company, quickly folded.

Pearson had a very impressive freshman year at Feather River, finishing with 39 catches for 757 yards and 10 TDs, and he currently leads the nation in receiving yards per game. He had 19 catches for 311 yards and 3 TDs in a game 3 weeks ago.

FWIW, Feather River's starting QB (Ja'Quay Garmon) is a freshman from South Fulton, TN.

I know ja'quay, the feather river QB. Apparently he is lighting it up as a freshman. Out if HS, ja'quay was being recruited by Murray state, MTSU, and Memphis.

He has a very strong arm. May be one to keep an eye on (though maybe not for UT)

What did Gwen do with the juco QB from South Fulton? What did McFarland do prior to that? Could dude be Anthony Hutch if Ms Loohaus actually taught him to add? I haven't ever heard of him until this forum. Please elaborate.:whistling:

Video discussion of recruiting on VQ with Austin Price and Paul Fortenberry and Fort really hyped this Pearson kid up. Said he likely ends up the #1 JUCO WR in the '14 class. He'll be in town for the USC game on an OV. Would be a really nice replacement for Lauderdale, IMO.
