Riley Ferguson injured his thumb during SPARQ testing at #Elite11. Has ice on it now. Hoping to be able to bounce back and play through it.

Yeah with twitter, you don't have to be a suscriber or insider or whatever to find info. Sounds like he's doing well at the Elite 11

"Riley Ferguson at No. 10 in initial #Elite11 list. Good to see him bounce back from a thumb injury suffered day 1"

Riley Ferguson is dealing with a thumb injury, working through it. Very good in the classroom. #Vols

"Ferguson has a whip-like release- loose. Ball can get away from him. Like his demeanor. #Vols"

Come on! This guy needs to be a 4 on Rivals. It is a shame that they have him as a 3 star.

Alot of Qb's don't pan out - Chris Simms for example. Still a great experience for any kid. It is their first time exposed to "actual" quarterbacking for a bunch of them.

Bc then he'll be a better player? Lol just messing..I hate when people say that. I don't care if he is a 3 or 4 star personally bc our coaches have proven they can identify talent at QB. But I do think it helps in other ways..

It helps the perception of the program from an outsiders point of view...everyone looks at the recruiting classes and rankings. And it may also help us with recruiting...good players want to play along side other good players. JMO.

Yeah, plus it gives indication that he could be better than most in his class. The verdict is still out on Phillip Sims. AJ Mccarron was also an elite 11 that beat out Sims. I know it is not a gauge but it can give experience and show players what College is like- if they succeed it shows potential to be great. The rest is up to the player.

"How's Ferguson doing?">> Thumb injury seems to be just too much. Didn't see him throw today and had it wrapped/iced

Not good!!!

Lookin like even if the whole QB thing doesn't work out, we have a replacement or palardy

@BryanDFischer: Tennessee QB commit Riley Ferguson just drop-kicked a 35yd field goal barefooted during downtime at the Elite 11.

Riley Ferguson and his thumb go 60 yards in just one pass. Have to love the way he has continued to push after the injury. #Vols
