Question for recruiting guru's

We have 12 committs so far and it's June, can we fill the 2013 roster before febuary?

oh yeah, 7 1/2 months to do this. we don't have to have 25 commits by sept. plenty of time. possible recruits will wait until they see how our season is going to sign later on. we'll be fine. i say at least a top 10 class in feb.

Well right now we only have signing room for 19-20 and that is if all the juniors stay. So if they do we only have space for about 7-8 more and that is actually one less if the Kris Comas kid officially commits.

we'll lose 5 or 6 to transfer, grades, or getting the boot. 25 easily this year.

Outstanding, Clay Travis has been shouting about candys 2 four star recruits and I was wondering can we blow Franklin out of the water before febuary.

Also I truly believe if we have at least a 9 or 10 win season the studs will come to Knoxville

Because we didn't sign 25 last year are we not allowed to go over that limit this year as long as they are EE's and we're under the 85?

Example: if we signed 22 last year, we can bring in 28 this year if at least 3 are EE's and we clear enough to remain at 85

Then if we are right I would be shocked if we didn't take at least 25 this year. Talent upgrade something serious the past few classes. The only way I could see a smaller number is if they were leaving a couple spots for the '14 class, which I doubt.

The 25 limit is only if we have that many scholarships available. That is the way the rule reads, but if we only have space for 19-20 then we cannot sign 28. For the 2012 recruiting class we had space for only 24 and maybe 25. Now with Clear gone we have freed up an extra space but we can only sign 25 or more if 5 or more current players leave, transfer or enter the draft.

Correct, but there is no doubt that between transfers, academics, other issues, we will have enough room cleared under the 85 to sign a full class of 25. My point is that if we bring in enough EE's we will be able to actually exceed the SEC mandate of allowing only 25/per class, much like UGA is going to do this year.

Some commitments wont be commitments by January imo.... will get recruited over. not the local kids but some others

Quick question...do walk- ons count towards the 85 limit or is that just guys on scholly's?

What I'm trying to figure out is say we do very well next yr, we seal up some big time recruits, we have to start dropping some of the current commits, can some players say we will pay our way as "walk-ons" and still have a chance to play if earned? Could a player even be a starter paying his own way?

walkons do not count. oh yeah, if a player is good enough, it doesn't matter if he is on scholly on not, he can even start.
