i dont know if you hate Fulmer or love Kiffin but its plain as day the 08 class was better - at this point.
I don't see how you can count Walls or Hughes in the '08 class when they didn't enroll and had to re-sign the next year.

I could also argue that the games started by the '08 class is a byproduct of the mass exodous of the '09 class. To claim that one class is far and away better than the other is ridiculous, IMO.

Kiffin had like 2 months to put that class together. At the time, it was a home run class with multiple 5 stars and the #1 player in the country. He gambled and took chances with some kids and it didnt work out

2006 was worse

Whole lot of talent but a whole lot more stupid is the motto of that class... A bunch of wasted talent

It's hard to believe the Kiffen nightmare was 4 years ago now. We've been irrelevant for soooooo long. I must bang his wife for all the mess he caused.

Did he ever rename his son, Knox?

Wow... Thanks Lane! I wish one of the 17 coaches that declined that USC gig had accepted. We would have been the USC of the south with his awesomeness still around.

Not a bad post. I don't like Kiffin much, but he landed what everyone thought at the time were some amazing prospects.

JMO, kiffin was too much flash and too little heart and soul. All thunder with very little lightning. Thunder can be impressive, but lightning does the work...

I hold no long term grudge against him. I am ecstatic that he is at usc. I am happy that his time at UT was cut short.

I would like for him to stay the heck out of Tennessee region recruiting though.

It depends on your definition of worst.

2009's class turned out to be a bust for sure but had they stuck together it would have been a solid class. It didn't lack in talent. Plus he admitted himself that he took some chances on kids in that class since he only had 2 months to put it together.

The reason the 09 class was magnified was because the classes behind them sucked so bad and everyone made the mistake of figuring that one single recruiting class was going to erase all the problems of the previous ones and be the "savior" so to speak.

Fulmer had years to put together better classes in 06 and 08. The 09 class was way more talented than the 06 and 08 classes which are by far the two worst (from a talent standpoint) recruiting classes I've ever seen Tennessee bring in.

Dooley had 1 month to put his first class together. Which one worked out better?

Look at Georgia during the 90's.A whole decade of busts.Top 5 classes almost every year and they underachieve. No Georgia fan should mention Tennessee's recruiting busts without bringing up their own issues.
