Lucas came to my camp in Atlanta and put on a show. He won a Receiver Award along with a kid from Sevier Co named Logan McCarter and Mustafa Anthony from Alcoa all seemed to be quality student athletes.

He has good hands, good size, and from what I saw he was pretty physical. I don't think he is fast enough to be a down field threat at TE in the SEC, but I think he would make a good blocking TE / H back.

On another note, I think this kid is the best player on LC's team. In my opinion they didn't throw him the ball nearly enough.

Jayson Swain has raved about him. Heaven help us if we offer and he commits. I don't know if this board could take another E. TN commit.

This kid is coming to camp and would committ on the spot if offered IMO. So if that happens would TN take Weaver, Wilson and Hamilton, and just let Weaver play DE and have Wilson and Hamilton be our TEs.

I don't think we're recruiting Weaver that hard.

-The surprise of the tournament was Lenoir City (Tenn.) High tight end Lucas Hamilton for the D-Block #7 team out of Knoxville. Holding just one offer from Middle Tennessee State, the 6-foot-5, 235-pound Hamilton made numerous receptions with the coverage draped on him

I think he would have benefited from holding out on his commitment, seeing as he's had some good camps. Either way, congratulations to the young man.

I am sure a TN offer would make him reconsider. Maybe they are slow playing him right now so earlier in recruiting season. Either way TN will see him pay multiple times this year while visiting Patrick. Happy for the kid either way.

A little inside info on this one. If offered he would more than likely commit as he wants to play in the SEC.
