I like our starting LB's and luckily you have to figure Lathers is a prime candidate to get a sixth year of eligibility, but we still just don't have the depth. If we can get just a couple of players to step up next year and provide quality minutes as a backup that is a top of the SEC type talent on the whole defense.
You left Tino Thomas off the list at CB(going to be good if he moves back there for good). AJ and Curt as juniors will be nice. Senior D.Sapp and Junior J.Williams will be fine at LB. We play well this year we'll pull a couple of LBs that will be able to come in and provide good depth in their 1st year.

Knew I was forgetting somebody. Also, think Orta could be a contributor with another year in our strength and conditioning program, he just strikes me as a player sal would like with the mean streak that he plays with. Also, you are probably right about the LB thing

Orta needs to be playing CB.

Agreed, I guess I have always assumed him and Tino would eventually be moved to CB once we got some depth with McNeil coming in and hopefully Bell next year

we're doing a lot of JUCO recruiting...

I dont know how to feel about that, an overabundance reeks of desperation by a coaching staff and usually leads to a lot of High expectations:Huge Misses.

Feels almost like the old Miss. St. days under Sherill.

No guarantee that Couch will stay. He's projected in the 3rd round of 2013 draft already, and that could get better if this whole year is like the 2nd half of last year.

Short term success with JUCOs can lead to recruiting success with HS kids. We need wins right now more than we need redshirts.

I think Jay is talking more about how many busts come from the juco ranks.

Please also notice half of them are from Hutchinson CC. Pipeline. I wouldn't look too far into it.

One of the ESPN guys. He tweeted the link and said he needed to get that up to 1st round instead of 3rd.

Couch, 3rd rounder right now? Color me very surprised. I know he has time to get better, but he's going to have to excel in a new defense (I know he's played in the 3-4 before), and he's going to be moving around a lot as of right now. His performances do not warrant a 3rd round status right now. Better than Malik Jackson basically, give me a break.

I dont really care where theyre from, a recruiting class filled with JUCo players is not a recipe for winning

Ron Prince found out the hard way at K State
