At 175 lbs. not much demand for 4.72 40's at RB at the SEC level.

Why are some of these threads started with guys that we most likely are not going to be recruiting? OP, has the staff been in contact with him?

Nope, sorry, we have enough guys that fit his build already and are FASTER. As I said in a earlier RB profile, the staff needs to concentrate on a 225+ pounder that has a mean streak and we will be good to go!

Luckily football is not played in a straight line, he's a shifty runner with great balance and agility who has left several 4.5 kids in the dirt the past couple seasons. Has received some interest from Tennessee and Georgia Tech. Good kid, solid grades and a potential late pick up because of his versatility. Recently made All-Combine Team at the Nike combine in Mobile: Finished rated the 4th highest prospect out of 1303 kids at the event.

Swafford is a beast! I have heard rumors that he has been looked at...since the high school he goes to is where i graduated from...Devaun is a killer all around athlete.

This is the way to handle a player like this. If he's close to home, not heavily recruited, and might turn out, then offer him a grayshirt, and see if he's worth his salt. Better than wasting a scholarship offer on him.

I live about a block from DB and every friday off I would walk over and watch Swafford and Foreman and was really disappointed that no Tennessee coach had looked at them. Solid players.<----- Dooley era
