I actually think some of that had to do with the timing of the Dooley hire. Who was really out there on the market of note for them to grab 2 weeks before signing day? Also, I think you have to factor in the state of the Athletic Department at the time. They did not have a good AD. It was a complete mess under Hamilton.

Aww how sweet, he apologized for being a douche. I take back every bad thing I said about him. And all Brantleys bad year proved is Meyer cannot coach a pro style QB.

Maybe, but he did alright with Chris Leak and Alex Smith. Both of whom can run a bit better than Brantley. I'm not so sure any coach could have done much Brantley....he'd look good in 1 quarter flashes and then make you throw stuff at the wall the rest of the game, or get injured.
