They were discussing on Twitter and in a few other areas the star rankings of some of these kids when they were coming out of high school, and there was a significant amount of 3 stars and a couple of 2 star kids who are now multi-millionaires.
Barton Simmons says people tend to forget that star rankings only evaluate physical talent, and not necessarily how competitive a guy is, how he fits into a system, but physical attributes only, and those can be misleading.
Their point was it's fun to say you have all 4 and 5 stars, but you are an idiot if you immediately dismiss guys because "they are only 3 stars" and start freaking out when someone else gets a 4 or 5 star player. I guess we do it because we are fans, but tend to overemphasize team rankings.
Meyer will win big at OSU for no other reason than...its the Big 10. Mich is still a work in progress, Penn St is in shambles, IU, Illinois, NW, Purdue, and Minn all blow, Iowa, Wisc, and Mich St are all perrenial chokers. Nebraska is their only threat, and they're average at best. Posted via VolNation Mobile
I actually think Brady Hoke is going to do a good job at MI and has a great chance to keep Meyer out of NC games. Meyer will win at Columbus, just not as big as at FL. Just my opinion.
Looks like Bryce Brown got drafted..in the 7th round. His father/boneheadedness/immaturity cost him how many millions? Would have loved to have him these past few years with a proper head on his shoulders.
They didn't even rank most of the first round draft picks. I understand that rankings have a lot to do with physical preparedness for playing right away in college, but there's no way any ratings agency in any other industry could get away with missing so many highly successful prospects.
