Great individual plays but I just SMH when they are brought up as a put down.

Barton Simmons says people tend to forget that star rankings only evaluate physical talent, and not necessarily how competitive a guy is, how he fits into a system, but physical attributes only, and those can be misleading.

Their point was it's fun to say you have all 4 and 5 stars, but you are an idiot if you immediately dismiss guys because "they are only 3 stars" and start freaking out when someone else gets a 4 or 5 star player. I guess we do it because we are fans, but tend to overemphasize team rankings.

I actually think Brady Hoke is going to do a good job at MI and has a great chance to keep Meyer out of NC games. Meyer will win at Columbus, just not as big as at FL. Just my opinion.

Total number of players picked in the first three rounds from Cincinnati: 3

Total number of players picked in the first three rounds from Texas AND Tennessee AND Florida AND Auburn AND Florida State: 0

And it's looking more and more like the complete number of players drafted from those traditional powerhouse schools might not equal 3.

Talent + development + health = drafted

Looks like Bryce Brown got drafted..in the 7th round. His father/boneheadedness/immaturity cost him how many millions? Would have loved to have him these past few years with a proper head on his shoulders.

In case anyone needed to see an indictment of how badly ESPN misses on rankings in recruiting:

High school ratings of top draft prospects - SEC Blog - ESPN

They didn't even rank most of the first round draft picks. I understand that rankings have a lot to do with physical preparedness for playing right away in college, but there's no way any ratings agency in any other industry could get away with missing so many highly successful prospects.
