| Rivals Roundtable on In-State Talent SIAP What state might be a surprise sleeper in producing a load of elite talent in 2013, much like Missouri was in 2012?
_______________
Keith Niebuhr: Well, I really think Tennessee has an excellent senior class for 2013. Lot of four-star players. Lot of good skill position kids with major offers. Being in the same region as Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, North Carolina and South Carolina, this state doesn't get a ton of credit for producing good football players. But it should. Especially this year with players such as Jalen Ramsey and Cornelius Elder, a pair of strong defensive back prospects leading the way. Major colleges will be spend a lot of time in Tennessee this cycle.
Chris Nee: After a disappointing year in Tennessee in 2012, it appears the 2013 class in The Volunteer State is pretty deep. Six prospects from the state earned four-stars in our initial release and already 20 prospects claim offers. The talent at the top in the state also seems to be superior to a season ago. |

| I know people made a big deal about us only getting 1 of our top 20 prospects in this past class, or whatever the number was, but I really hope we do pick up the majority of the instate guys this year. We can't have our state's top players in any color other than Orange. Set up that fence Dooley! |

| Dooley will get the top TN talent when he wants it. No one talks about his pull in the '11 class. '13 is loaded and I think we'll get a lot of those guys in orange. I think the only in state prospects I really wish UT would've landed was Redmond and the big OT from Memphis that went to Bama (whose name clearly escapes me) |

| I think UT ends up with a very good in-state recruiting class.
Jalen Ramsey
Jason Carr
Frank Herron
Austin Sanders
Von Bell
Jalen Reeves-Maybin
Camian Patrick
I feel that those 7 recruits will be Vols. 3 of them (Carr, Sanders, Patrick) are already commited.
I think UT also has a very good shot with Corn Elder, but I am not overly confident. I think Wilkins ends up at Vanderbilt with his brother and UT misses out on Dodson Jr. |

| It will be interesting to see if Vandy will put up much of a fight for these in-state guys. I think this class will say a lot about Vandy's future IMO. |

| I think UT cleans up in the state of TN this year. I don't think Vandy comes close to competing with UT this recruiting cycle with the top in-state recruits. UT already had Patrick, Sanders, and Carr. I definitely don't see Ramsey, Elder, Herron, or Reeves-Maybin. They'll get a top RB in Wilkins and I'm sure a few others, but UT should get 6 or 7 of TN's Top-10 IMO. |

| Just an interesting note Corn Elder has multiple scholarship offers to play basketball he could turn to that instead of football. He is getting offers from big schools in both sports |

And is this year's in-state talent a one year thing or has the state of Tennessee turned a corner in high school talent? |
