| If we have the kind of good season that I am expecting, it will take the "Dooley on the hot-seat" question off of the table along with the associated use of it for negative recruiting. If that happens, we will have another shot at Neal assuming we still want him, which is not a certainty in my mind -- we are in on several others (like Hatcher, for instance) that are higher on our boards.
But assuming that later in the season we decide that we do still want Neal, we should have a decent shot at flipping him based on the fact that he is likely too short to be an elite DE in a 4-3 scheme and he has far more potential as a LB in a 3-4 scheme like we will be running -- and as a 3-4 LB he will have an easier time getting into the next level.
So if we still want Neal late in the season and if we do have an 8-10 win season, I think we have a good shot at flipping him.

mlsoft | If we have this type of a season, then I don't believe we will have to worry about trying to flip Neal, as a season like this will hopefully land us Hatcher and help us flip Carl Lawson. I believe we would all be ecstatic to take those 2 and be done at the Jack position. |

| I agree Scotty, what's with all the hype over a mediocre 3 star recruit? More importantly, this guy may switch again or be recruited over at LSU. Not too many guys from North Carolina play at LSU. Ohio State may have been recruiting over this guy as well.
We have a great schedule this year, and can hopefully win at least 8 games. If we start winning, we will be on a lot bigger recruits. |

Like you, I think it is doubtful that we would still be looking at him, but at this point, nothing is certain.

Kind of fun to watch him.
