They're both far away. I think UF is just trying to justifying us outrecruiting them. Just saying, when you're already that far away from home, does it really matter?

Daruis told Mike Farrell UF was his leader as well as GB and ITG but the writers are hearing from others about distance playing a factor. He also stated that he wants to play bball in college so that may also play a factor at some point.

Distance plays a factor in recruiting many times. UT is within 3-4 hours of his hometown while UF is over 10 hours. No matter what you believe I'm sure UT is also using the distance pitch.

Not to mention if his parents wanted to come see him play, Tennessee is the much shorter drive. So distance being a factor is a very plausible reason to me.

350 vs 860 miles

He gave an interview at Nike Camp and said UT and Wisconsin are recruiting him the hardest, "SEC is the best conference in the world" and he wants to decide by end of the summer.

Are we talking about the same person? Latham, from Indianapolis, IN? That's close to 6 hours away, at least.

It's about five hours from Knoxville going about 10 mph over the speed limit.

Well last I checked, Dooley only recruits high character individuals... I highly doubt any of them would drive over the speed limit...

Google maps was 5 hrs and 53 minutes. That's not even close to 3-4 hrs as was stated.

You could probably find a flight that would be close to or equal to 2-3 tanks of gas. JMO. If you're already that far, I just don't see how distance is that big of a deal. Just an opinion.
