| I know they're kids.... But whatever happened to your word? I'm not talking about committment...I'm talking about making statements like these, and then going back on it.
Santos: "I'm 99.9% Committed."
Peters: "Nobody has anything to worry about. I'm a VFL. There is no way that I don't sign with Tennessee on Wednesday"
I mean, don't say those things unless you are completely sure that you are going to sign with Tennessee. I understand things change, but you can't say those things one day, and then go back on it the next.
Not trying to be butthurt, just frustrating that those comments were made and put out. |

| For the past couple of years, it seems that UT has been the laughing stock for recruits. It's almost like they enjoy playing around with UT just to make a splash and get media attention. |

| Being "kids" isn't an excuse. It just isn't. |

| Yeah, all of these kids were born in the 90's, and as such they can't remember when we were dominant. |

| There really needs to be a early signing period for high school recruits. |

These kids are being pulled in a number of different directions. |

| It happens to plenty of people besides us. It still sucks. Kids will be kids. |

Not trying to be butthurt, just frustrating that those comments were made and put out. | I don't necessarily hold it against them. Recruiting is dirty and places an incredibly large public spotlight on high school seniors, especially now that there are media outlets dedicated to covering it. I mean, few had ever heard of Al Wilson before he was a stud at UT. Now these kids are expected to be the "white Al Wilson" or next Leonard Little, etc, before they're even a member of the team. There is a ton of pressure in today's world that most people will never, ever understand.
With the new signing limits, pressure to commit early (not necessarily by the UT coaching staff) is higher than ever. I'm a big proponent of an early signing period to alleviate a lot of this pressure. The fact is, these kids have to do what's right for THEM, not what the fanbase thinks is right for the program. |

| It's understandable with Santos because circumstances changed and he got an offer from his dream school.
But Peters? Inexcusable, and he deserves to be TRASHED by media and fans for lying so blatantly. |

| I just appreciate Dalton Santos much more now. He was straight up about it, never lied, and told our coaches in person. Yes, I'm ticked that he said 99.9% committed and then switched, but that's MUCH better than saying "you got nothing to worry about." |

By all means, do what is appropriate for you. BUT HANDLE IT LIKE A MAN. |

Regardless if he lied or not, the freak out is exactly the same. Deal with it. |

| | I'm Your Huckleberry | I wonder how Henderson and Cross feel about this thread? Good for goose...good for gander. Early signing period is the only thing that solves it. |
