| The freshman bible study will bode well... Just heard the Peterman interview.
Listened to a lot of statements by Stokes.
If these guys are as sincere as they seem, it will have a very positive impact on both the football and basketball teams. Leaders who lead well in their athletic pursuit but also in academics and in personal lives are great for teams where drugs and baby mommas etc can derail folks who do not have enough guidance.
I want to have a team with almost no Janzens, or Coker's or Nukeese or Onterrio Smith etc.
Eric Berry? Inky Johnson etc...yes please give me more. |

| So should we recruit kids who come from troubled backgrounds?
I say we should. It should be possible to get 18 year olds into the right kind of setting and change their lives for the better. |

| I love when we are able to recruit "class" individauls. I feel Dooley has definitely tried to change the culture and recruit these type of guys. I also feel Cuonzo is doing the same for the BB program. Makes it a little more difficult to win but look at all the "trouble" 5* guys we have had in the past several years that didn't make it to their Sr. year (Banks, J. Jackson, Brett Smith, Nu'Keese, Coker, WIngate, T. Smith, etc...) I'm probably leaving out dozens of others... |

| We should never let another kid like Ramar Smith enroll at UT.
Kids who have difficult backgrounds they are rising above should be applauded, but I do not want murderers or other guys who are almost certainly going to be headed towards a different type of "for life" |

| Drae Bowles also held a bible study every night this past week at the Army AA game. He headed it up by himself and got it done. He also listened to Christian rap as well and was slightly made fun of but he didn't care. We need guys with this type of character on our teams! |

| Then again, I think we should recruit troubled individuals so that the Petermans' and Bowles' can try to help the troubled ones so that possibly when they leave school try will be better men than when they came in. |

| There's nothing wrong with having both. (Not murderers of course.) Young men who are strong in their faith and exhibit discipline are a good influence on young men who need it. And young men who aren't as disciplined encourage those who are (don't we all have friends we try hard to be an example for in one form or another, and therefore makes us stronger?)
It's a win/win for all.
